1) Ironton (8-0) - Running out of superlatives to describe them. Dominated a decent Serengeti team in week 8 and remain on cruise control for a couple weeks until they meet Le Thor.
2) Fat Jaws Badness (8-0) - Yet to be tested as their schedule just hasn't been that strong but they meet the cream of Elephant in 3 of the next 4 weeks so we'll find out exactly what they have very soon.
3) Wallachia Wamphyrii (7-1) - Offense appeared lackluster in their win over Houston as they gained just over 300 yds but then 5 ST/D TDs does keep the offensive numbers down. Only remaining games that should be difficult are Uganda in a couple weeks and the week 16 showdown with Le Thor.
3 (T) ) Le Thor Devil Bats (8-0) - Can't justify ranking Wallachia ahead of them any longer. Barring a major snafu from one or the other, these teams will remain tied at whatever position they're in until after we see how Le Thor handles the Tanks but the upcoming Gigolo game is a classic trap game.
5) Darfur Depopulators (8-0) - Huge showdown this week with 2nd ranked Fat Jaws. Unlike the Badness, these guys have beaten a couple of pretty decent squads and would love to make a statement this week regarding who is the big dawg in Elephant.
6) Luxembourg Lions (7-1) - Rebounded well from their only loss a couple weeks ago and will definitely be a factor in the playoff seedings for Lion. They should breeze through the next 4 games before a big game with Le Thor. (But don't overlook the Wildebeest)
7) Appalachicola Bay Buccaneers (7-1) - Their early season rout of Abbotsford is starting to look better and better. Only a close loss to Darfur blemishes their record and they could have a chance to jump into the title race should Fat Jaws take down Darfur this week.
8) Johannesburg (5-3) - This team is starting to gel and could be a team that the #4 seed in Lion wouldn't want to see. An OT loss and a 2 point loss away from being 7-1.
9) Kazan (5-3) - Probably played the toughest schedule in Elephant and at this point are poised to finish 12-4 and gain a home playoff game. And if Fat Jaws looks past them in a few weeks it could be 13-3.
10) Serengeti (6-2) - A good team but as noted before, still a season away. They played Ironton well enough to not get totally embarrassed, something that is not that easy to do. The fact that they beat the Gigolos earlier proves they shouldn't be taken lightly.
Honorable Mention - Abbotsford (on the cusp), Uganda (my luck they put it together against Wallachia), Houston (for holding my offense to just over 300 yards)
GOTW (Lion) - Johannesburg vs Le Thor - Le Thor should take this one but as the Wallachia owner, I'm sure glad I got my game with the Gigolos out early in the season. To not take Johannesburg seriously is a major gamble but I don't think the Bats will overlook them despite the looming showdown with Ironton.
GOTW (Elephant) - Darfur vs Fat Jaws - Was there any doubt as to this one? I have no clue on this one. Darfur has played a tougher schedule so far in the regular season and their only common opponent was in scrimmages so we won't count that. Let's just consider this one a toss up and see who's left standing when it's over. I don't think it will be a blowout either way and will be surprised if the margin of victory is in double digits.

They should beat us.
