I'm a new owner in silver. I was OC last year of the team I took over and we moved from copper to silver this year. I understand that Gold is the best of the best and was just wondering if someone from Gold would act as a mentor to me so that I can get the best out of my team and surprise the league I am in (silver 7). PM me if anyone is willing to do this. I basically just want to know what makes Gold teams tick and how to be the best. Thanks.

You should definitely take advantage of jxgator's offer as he can help you a lot. Set up some scrims with Gold teams who are willing to play you too as you will see how a good team attack's your defensive AI, and how strong defense is the key at the more elite level.
But you will need a full roster to compete in S7 and while I know a lot of owners feel they can slowly recruit during the offseason, the reality is the longer it takes the harder it is to make up the training advantage. PeeWee is such a level playing field now with no more day 31's that you need whatever edge you can get, and especially if you want to compete in a tough league.

naimoli, surely you can impart some wisdom to a Copper team trying to make an impact in a tough division their first crack at it? You guys had no problem with the adjustment and while you were an experienced team, there have to be a few tips you could share.
While I want Crib to make Gold more than anything in my little GLB world, I also want to help other teams improve. Eventually if we can get the teams in Silver and Copper all at a more competitive level, the quality of Gold will continue to rise and if we ever see successful passing in PW the fun will really begin.

2nd. What i did was found some amazing coaches and played them out of position. Fu signed with my team cause he had always been a DC and he wanted to OC and with him he brought a amazing ST coach who normaly runs OC. Nit was just pure luck i sent out a contract offer in the market place and he has been a beast ever since., I think a lot of our success come from the coaches playing with they have been planing against
When it comes to what i do. I spend countless hours going threw everything. I send out pms for everything from close your builds to please upgrade your EQ. I have even went as far as to tell players i would send them a money order for the boost.
My Keys are'
Find great agents( in two seasons of the HH we have only had 1 player go inactive and it was for a week tops) Also my 1st year i tryed to get players that were new and i told them if they joined my team i would teach them how to make great players. as most people start this game not knowing what they are doing and make some crazy ass builds
Make sure everyone is where the EQ in the same Attubute(people debat this but there are so many builds where i see 1 point in speed 1 in agility 2 in carrying IMO worthless)
Make sure everyone buys CE(its like a free level)
Keep your forums active.(anything to keep people checking in start a NFL thread something that the team will get into)
Ask questions( i have asked some of the dumbest sht in the forums because i dint understand. my ego goes out the window to win. I never step on my coaches feet i dont tell them anything i ask their option. I also post a threed for each game i think is going to be a good one sometime people that are not your coaches drop down so good ideas)
Dont folow thunders guild to a tee silver it is a great way to get a trophy in copper. But a lot of our build have changed to play at a different level his guild is amazing but a lot has changed in peewee since then and strength in most pos is more important then speed..
Keep up on your players builds to make sure they are following your build guilds. LE made this system and i will be using it this season

Fill your roster (all 55 spots) Now is a great time to find players with the deal going on. Also if you can afford to build as many players as you can
Drop the 3rd qb
Set all your player tactics and play as many scrims and change till you find the right mix
I would also consider maybe retiring some of your builds and redoing them as most of your players have applied their SP. You should never apply your SP till you have either hit their top training value or till the 1st day of the season. by doing so you could lose a lot of SP you could have trained.
Last if jxgator33 offer to help TAKE IT.

Its going to be a bitch to compete. and with a 45 man roster. and teams like crib and FT who are dieing to break into gold, I know for a fact ping wants it more then ever. An the goal isnt to make the playoffs the goal is to get the top seed in the playoffs and win the championship
