numone, we over at the funky bunch are about tired of the freight train!
Its too bad that you guys keep landing in the same conference because my loLGM trophy case could be larger!!

Tomorrow we have two more teams from the network squaring off against eachother.

Are you kidding? Banja would probably be #4 in this Conference this season at best. Over in that terrible Conference, at least they get to sleep walk to the CC before they get crushed by the Freight Train.

haha, well, with what we have to go off of, it's not even close. The only games we really have to compare are The Gods who went 11-4 getting beat by 38 by Vatican City who went 9-6 over here. And Excellence Express who was 13-2 over there losing by double digits to Border Reivers 10-5 in our Conference. Hell, a team that made the playoffs over there (Sparta) lost by 80+ against one of our 2nd tier teams. Their 9th team lost by 52 to our 8th team. I think it's pretty clear at this point. Freight Train is great and likely the best team in the league hands down. Banja is clearly the #2 over there, but if they were over here, it would be far from clear. I like those guys overall, but claiming that UFT is holding them back is just funny. Alpha was CLEARLY the weaker of the two Conferences this season.

woah, where did all this hate come from? I agree that Zeta is deeper but I think UFT and Banja could hang with anyone on both conferences. Just cuz one conference is deeper, it doesn't mean it is "better".

GMathiasf, to go based on any games is just ridiculous, games that you are looking at happened in the pre-season/1st game of the season. People have gained several levels since then, you don't know who was boosted, DT might not have been set, people were getting used to the tagging system etc.

lol, what is "hate" about what I wrote? If depth of a Conference isn't your criteria for quality, then what is? You won a playoff game by 163 ffs. You guys beat the 3rd team in your Conference by more than 100 during the regular season. I know the Freight Train is good. I've never said otherwise, and I do think that you guys are likely the best team in this league. Banja is clearly the 2nd best team in your Conference as they proved with a 40 point win in their 2-3 match up.

Sure, people can make a lot of excuses about the first game of the season, but I wasn't talking about pre-season ffs. We don't really have much else to go off of, and if it wasn't so clear-cut in that first week, you may have an argument, but you don't. Having the best team. Look at the NBA 2 seasons ago, the western conference had teams with 50 wins not making the playoffs while in the Eastern conference teams below .500 were, but as you saw the Celtics were the champs, meaning Eastern > Western. As I said in my post, I believe both Ukraine AND Banja could hang with anyone in the league.

So you are telling me the Jets > Pats because the Jets beat the Pats the second week of the season? Sports, especially football, especially GLB (since you can change the AI at a moments notice, people boost etc.) is a more of a "what have you done for me lately" type of thing and since there is no way to compare it then you need to wait to make that assessment. After friday we can talk then.

Like i said i guess it is a matter of how you determine the "best" conference.

So, having the best team determines the best Conference? Seriously? So, when Memphis went to the National Championship game in basketball, that meant that Conference USA was the 2nd best Conference in the country? That's the most absurd argument I've ever heard. Yes, Ukraine and Banja could hang with the top 3 over here, but the 3-10 it's not even close.

This isn't the NFL. We're talking about 50+ point sim differentials and 4 of them. We're not talking about one close lucky game. You have a team with a 56 game win streak. In GLB, the better team almost always wins. The sim margin of error is not that high.

Way to dodge that question. I guess that proves my point.

so you are saying a bunch of teams that maybe wont produce the winner but has a lot of quality depth is better then a top heavy conference that can produce the winner?
