has anyone even tried one? i'd like to know.

I shoot for balanced, the starter, same level is all pass rush. Works out pretty well.

I have a pretty good containment DE on my team. I won't share his build but he did get 98 tackles, 35 TFL, 21 Hurries and 1 Sack during the season. Like all DE, you need to have high Str, Agi and Spe. It can be built and affective.

my de got 41 tackles 12 hurries and 2 interceptions.

Containment De is stupid. Just build a Pass rushing DE and he'll easily contain the run.

I am building a Containment DE right now.

He has been priming up for when 3-4 comes out...

Containment DE is not stupid however... Its not a glamor build, but I guarantee you a good containment DE stops runs before the line of scrimmage alot more often.

They know how to shift their bodies to square with the runner. Pass rusher is just trying to get out of the block to kill the QB, usually 1 - 2 steps out of position from a runner and sacrifices that crucial 2yd gain while the containment DE would have it for no gain or a loss.
