actually, we played a lot of different teams from all leagues and levels over the last few seasons and we won a very high percentage of them. but when we came back to our league, we found the teams there to be way more difficult.
when i looked at the scrimmage schedules of other teams in the league, the same was usually true. heck, eden won 50 games in a row, snapped by us btw, and won 80 to 90% of their scrimmages. (eden ruined our playoffs so they still have scoreboard, though)
yeah, i know scrimmages don't always mean much because teams experiment. however, if that was solely the reason for winning we would have been closer to 50% just by random chance of experiments succeeding / failing.
i just think the level of competition between the OC / DC in africa in general is pretty tough. because of that the casual gm's took their teams and left. any that stayed were battle tested and over time we have some very tough teams.
we don't take anyone for granted. like today, ironton is 1-3. we are 4-0. yet we feel like the underdogs.

Africa AAA has been pretty good competition for a while, I was in the other AAA a few seasons ago with another team and its was top to bottom the most competitive league I have been a part of in GLB. Africa is still seen as one of the weaker Pyramids but that is still a remnant of them being a few seasons behind the curve when they started. That said a lot of good owners came to Africa so they could build a competitive team from scratch and be on equal footing with the other owners, rather than face established teams in USA or Canada and I think since there isn't that huge shock of hitting AAA or Pro that you find in some older leagues. Middle of the pack teams don't get crushed as often and are able to stick around and earn more success which leads to a better experience for everyone and will eventually lead to a much stronger Africa as other leagues lose their season 1-3 guys to retirement.
