My question is, if confidence is a major skill, how come I only see most guards with it first capped or sometimes a little into the second cap?

I see agility way up there and I know that's needed but shouldn't confidence be more important being it's a major skill?

I tried it as a variant - taking it up high early at the expense of Str/Blk:

Based on the small amount of game film watched, I wouldn't recommend it; although I'm not giving up on this particular build just yet. There's more experimentation to come.

Edit: Also note that if you're a top player on a top team, you can use HoC to give it a +30 boost in the playoffs, so there doesn't seem too much point to spending SP in it past 60.

the problem is the lack of confidence intense combos. There are no combos with strength, blocking, or agility, which is usually the 3rd attribute people go for on a guard. There really should be a strength/confidence combo IMO.

Confidence is the most under-rated value for OLineman, bar none.

The reason you see so many Oline guys constantly complaining why their players don't perform is because confidence is single capped. They believe speed is more important than confidence...

All of my guards have confidence at 68 by level 40.

And I take my lead from one of the top guards in the game:

They just played the best team in all of GLB and watch how he handles the DT/NT/DE.

You want a dominant guard, get confidence to 68 early.
