Forum > Champion League > How the WL teams set up for the first season of the decline

Looking at the rosters around the league it seems that they were two basic tactics for handling the decline of season 1 dots. Most of the teams that remained from season 1 in the WL are going with Older dots as starters and season 3 and 4 dots as back-ups. The biggest exceptions are MPHD and TKW that kept their rosters of season 2 and early 3 dots in tact.

For the most part the New teams coming up are rolling with season 1 dots and few early season 2 dots.

Should be interesting to see what tactic pays off this year.

I say Taut might finally have bought his championship for $3,000. I think without the screen, this season is his to lose.

Didn't you buy flex for laggo and all of those players you had?

shut up you probably spent more than anyone owning 2 teams and having a slew of players

Permanently revoke this users posting privileges, but let him continue to play dot ball and make bad defenses imo.

Depends on what the dots they brought in look like. A lot of the season 3/4 slow builds are BEASTS

If they plucked up any Season 3-4 turd, that the saw just floating along in the river then yes.

Otherwise, it's smart to take the chem hit now, in portions as you phase out the still superior S1 guys, during their decline.

This to a degree. My team is mostly S2 with some S3/4 dots and a little bit less S1 dots. The S1 dots and S2 dots here were pretty much our starting roster of last season, then I replaced some of the older guys who didn't start, and some of the backups who I thought could be equaled with a great S3/4 guy as well. Hopefully leaves me in a good position for decline, while not downgrading the talent. Not being a primarily S1 also gave me a lot more time to adjust as well.

ESL probably has less than 5 S1 players starting. alot of S4D0 slowbuilds coming/came over this offseason, plus a handfull of remaining S2 guys.

handfull of S1 guys still around for ST's, mentor, backups though.

I'm very interested to see what happens. BDC for example has had a couple season 3/4 dots already in past seasons, but we went pretty young with our replacements. The builds on the new guys are for the most part better on paper than what we had before but I still need to see it on the field.

Ultimately it will probably come down to what team picks the right VAs to compliment the right play that is dominant this season...just like always.

Well, offseasons are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better dot will emerge, with each passing day of decline, we know it's not
to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic dot lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably...

In that daily effort in which intelligence and passion mingle and delight each other, the absurd man discovers a discipline that will make up the greatest of his strengths.

And that is why we play dotball.

That's two Camus references on the WL forums now.
