I have heard things about the playoffs sim being different than the reg season sim but that was never proven. Just because we beat two teams that beat us during the reg season doesn't prove that theory. We game planned our balls off for both of those games and if we didn't have the builds or the plays in the AI than we would have lost either one. By the way, everyone who loses in the playoffs to a lower seed always throws the Bort must have changed something statement to deal with the fact that they are golfing a day or so sooner.
GL QPR. 1. I think the teams that made the championship games are fantastic, well run teams who deserve to be in the championship game.
2. I won't even discuss if the playoff sim is different. It obviously is, but I don't think it is the x's and o's part. I think the morale affect is cranked up in the playoffs (and it probably should be). In GLB, "built for the playoffs" means high confidence in my opinion. I think that is why you see games that are blowouts in the playoffs that just shouldn't be based on what has happened in previous games. Of course that doesn't explain why the highest end of game morale my team had was after a 40-3 whipping in the playoffs. But I'm not here to offer contradictory evidence.
3. I think the sim this season did create some advantages to the WR's this season. What I'm saying is the sim was tilted towards the passing game (in that good cb's became average cb's this season)a little more this season than in the past. This could be caused by any number of things. I'm sure SIM changes were made, but it could also be that in S11, the WR builds all progressed to a point that they were better than all the CB builds. The WR's certainly had more things they needed to put points in, so that is a reasonable (though possible wrong) conclusion. If you were a passing team you had some advantage, but not an insane one like power backs had a couple of seasons back (I was on a team that won a championship because they went and picked up two more power backs and ran the ball all day, it shouldn't be that easy and it wasn't this season).
So with the fair to midlin passing advantage that DC's haven't figured out and the increase in confidence factors in the playoffs....I could see how they would have some advantage in getting to the championships because they would make more big plays and create a morale issue...which leads to more big plays..so forth.
This is by no means a critique on the teams that got there. We didn't play Surge until after they got their feet under them, but I've been glad of that for most of the season. I've been clear that I know they are a good team. One and done in AAA speaks for itself. In adition, I'm glad we never played QPR because their track record also speaks for itself. This is our 3rd season here, so that probably speaks for itself.
I'm simply offering one explanation on why the two well run passing teams got to the championship game as opposed to the other 10 well run teams. Random chance is probably just as good of an explanation. So is that you guys have better teams or you gameplan better.
In any case, congrats to you guys and I post this shit because I fucking hate golf, so I'm bored out of my mind now that I have nothing to do.
