I posted this in my private forum but I wanted to post it here as well because there are so many of you in APL who made this game so enjoyable to me. First of all I would like to say that this is by no means a slight of the Dragons. I knew from the start they would make their own place in APL, as well as Ocho Cinco... but it wasn't their time yet. They gameplanned their asses off and I tip my hat to them both. But so did we. If you try to tell me that us and the Pirates all of a sudden played so horribly and looked so bad in the 2nd round after destroying everyone in the regular season... I don't care if you call me a sore loser....I just ain't buying it as a coincidence.

One last thing, Vegas, friend or not, if you have anything negative to say, I will take a week vacation from work, find where you live, and personally beat the fuck out of you on your front steps. There are times to talk trash and times to stay quiet. This is the latter.

I won't lie I am bent as shit about this loss, but I don't want my feelings taking away from the Dragons whatsoever. I wish you well from here on out. Well Done lads!!

Anyway here is the post. Take care guys....

Maybe I'm being too emotional about our loss in APL, but is seems too fishy to me that teams full of lowered leveled and lower rated players consistantly defeated teams ranked higher than them in the playoffs, teams that destroyed them during the regular season. It didn't just happen in APL but across the board in all of the Pro leagues.

I hate conspiracy theories but it just seems too easy to see Bort saying, "we have teams who will retire next year and teams who will bring in more money for us, lets give the younger teams a little boost."

I'm tapping out.

It was a fucking incredible pleasure to play alongside of all of you. I had a great time in this past year an a half. I think I have grown as a football fan just from the knowledge I have absorbed from you over that time, I learned some techniques and philosophies that will stay with me forever. I can't thank you enough for that.

But I can't pour money into a game that I think is rigged. Bort hides his changes too often until he is called out, I had enough. If you know me you know I'm anything but a sore loser. If you beat me man to man I will give you all the props in the world. But I hate nothing more than being played for a mark. I won't do it anymore.

I may coach a team in the future but as of now I'm retireing everyone and selling me lvl 13 team and taking a big break from GLB until I believe it's on the up and up again.

I wish you all the best in your lives, and know that if you are reading this, you affected my life in a very positive way. I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.

If you ever want to reach me outside GLB my email is floydzoot@hotmail.com

I'll miss you guys

Your Bud,

Toad

Hate to see you quit over something like this. I know of many agents (including myself) that have been apart of teams that went 18-0 and lost to a team they destroyed in the regular season. It happens man. Believe me, I hate to be on the losing end but sometimes the dots just don't do what you want them to.

It wasn't you man it wasn't you. I don't want to take away from your big win. You guys did great and I have nothing but respect for your team. I guess I was just looking for an excuse to quit. If you think I'm the only season 1 owner/GM/player leaving though, you will be surprised.

Trust me when I say we know your frustration. Dakar has been 18-0 TWICE before and lost. I honestly cant say its a rigged game because its happened before and in all different leagues. We have a ton of players who will be gone in another season and already losing a bunch to retirement this season so while we may be new to APL, we are far from young.

Dude the playoff sim has always been a moody bitch. Whether Bort jacks with the playoff results or not, I don't know. I've been on both sides of it. I've been DC on 16-0 teams that had no business losing until the title round and lost in the 1st round. And I've also been able to break through all the way and win Gold. It isn't just the Pro sim, I've seen crazy playoffs sims at all levels. In fact when I joined back in season 2 it was one of the first mantras I ever heard in GLB, "beware the playoff sim".

If the game upsets you that much then yeah I'd take a break. Sometimes it really gets to me too, trust me.

I made a WEPL team go CPU & gut this season. Well it wasn't just me but I guess I was the straw that broke the camel's back. Yay.

Toad - I understand and hope you'll be back around after you take a break. I've started enjoying the game a lot more ever since I started not caring about it quite as much - if that makes any sense. Its just dots running around, after all. Hang with people who are cool and don't try to do it all.

At any rate - that's how I'm rolling for now and why I'm not on the forums that much. Life's too short and too cool to spend too much time here.

Sorry to wax philosophical. Bottom line... sad to see you go, hope to see you around here sometime again. If you ever decide to jump back in look me up.

GL Toad whatever you decide. When you're ready for some lulz bring a dot over to LOL and go 16-0 again (or is that 0-16 now)

I understand. Let's just say that I'm bothered by this thread quite a bit. I know that it may be hard to believe, but when I game planned against GRitS early in the season, I saw some things I could attack, but decided that now was not the time. I ran like random pass 90% AI for that game because A.) I didn't think we would win and B.) I was setting up ABD for the following game. I spent much of the rest of the season, especially the end of the season, trying to set up AIs that might make it difficult for GRitS. You guys were CLEARLY the team to beat in this league and I saw no reason to do anything but focus my entire season on getting passed you guys. Now, I don't want to sit here and claim that that's the only thing I ever game planned for because clearly that would be a lie, but it never left my mind and probably cost us at least 1 or 2 games during the regular season. Some teams I didn't really consider it against (sorry Boston, I'm not losing to you guys for it! ), but I wanted to give our team the best chance possible to win this game.

Watching that game, there was absolutely NOTHING about it that makes me think we got lucky or had a good sim. ffs, I blew two 4th down plays because I tried to get too creative. We could have easily won this game by more. That said, the game could have definitely gone the other way, but overall, there's nothing RNG about this game. We won because we outgameplanned you guys, flat out. To say anything different is a lie. I like GRitS and have a ton of respect for you guys and even though you say you don't mean this post as a slight toward us, it is. You're basically claiming that the only possible reason that we could have beat you is because Bort did something secretive or rigged something or some other bull shit. I'm not going to sit here and say I expected to beat you, but I certainly thought we could get the game into RNG territory. Turns out, we did even better than that. Oh well, take a break from the game. It's not rigged. Nothing changed. Good luck in life and we may still be back here next season.

Well, Dakar does know what they're doing when it comes to gameplanning. Add in the margin for error in a given sim (whether that margin is greater in the playoffs is up for debate), and it's hard to argue it's not a legit sim. But that is why we come back the next season. Anything can happen. Dakar has really impressed me with their gameplanning this season, and I think that is good for the game. A team that puts in that much foresight and effort should be rewarded (not saying Grits didn't, but it sounds like Dakar had a very solid plan in place). Now unfortunately, we have to play Grits again next season

Woof!
