have base heights/weights for each position and have us use the initial *points to change that as well. that way we can choose where the points go.

* these could be called something other than skill points.

That's probably true.

I could put a selector of some sort I suppose:

Choose height range: (short/average/tall)
Choose weight range: (light/average/heavy)

And split the ranges into the bottom/middle/top 3rd.

That would make for less rolls too, most likely. I guess some people don't even really worry about ht/wt all that much, either.

Height/weight seem to make a difference in some positions....I rolled a FB who is short and heavy so he will be a good power runner.

I think we'd just end up with everyone just retiring/recreating until they get the ht/wt they want, though, so they don't have to spend the points. That's worse than thousands of re-rolls.

Make players able to change their weight as part of daily training (within the current range)
Like go on a diet (lose 2 pounds) or Work out (gain 2 pounds)...similar to the way players can "Go Out" and gain Morale.

no, the base height/weight would always be the same for each position, an average for each position, or something.

people wouldn't retire/recreate because they'd just get the same thing again. they'd HAVE to apply the points to get the height weight they want, and that could mean decreasing height weight.

I'd rather just let people choose their own height/weight. We're doing it for the rolling, so why not for the height/weight too?

(Maybe make the limits of height/weight larger too )

Everyone would just be the same average ht/wt then. People are going to put more stock into attributes than into their ht/wt.

make height/weight more important then or have separate points for height/weight.

just thoughts...

If you change this to 8's / 10's / 11's (or whatever) it will be a huge step forward for GLB. The current system is just ridiculous, as everyone realizes.

Just allow training to increase weight....that takes 1 of the 2 out of the equation

How about making it so each user has to have a 10 second gap between each reroll attempt? Everyone could still run a script, but it would take up (I estimate) 5% of the bandwidth.

Alternatively, when you want to reroll a player, make it so that you have to enter one of those codes in a box that can't be read by AI. Then people would have to settle for less than ideal, and it would require absolute dedication to get the precise roll you want, instead of it being available to anyone with greasemonkey. Also it would slow down the reroll process significantly also.

You still need a starting weight...

I think my idea above is probably ok enough. People probably won't roll all that many times to get some EXACT ht/wt combo, and if it's in the range they want then it would probably be acceptable.

Doesn't mean we couldn't do weight training anyway.

would the server replying "no, it hasn't been 10 seconds yet" be the same as re-rolling?

Making rerolling more of a pain in the ass isn't a valid solution imo
