My predictions for the final three weeks and which seed teams will hold.

Lion

Barbary Coast Pirates

Current: 1st
Projected: 1st

BCP holds a one game lead over Brazzaville. With the head-to-head tie-breaker, all BCP needs to do is win 2 of their final 3 games. I think they do that and enter the postseason as the #1 seed.

Brazzaville Blacc Knights

Current: 2nd
Projected: 2nd

I believe Brazaville can lose their three remaining games and finish no lower than the number two seed. They'll win all three, however, and they should be the favorites to represent Lion in the championship game. They have many season one players with good builds.

Zimbabwe Bulls

Current: 3rd
Projected: 6th

Zimbabwe has played well of late, but they end the season with a couple tough games. I predict they win their next game but lose their final two and end the season at 10-6.

Somalia Wasps

Current: 4th
Projected: 5th

Somalia is a strong team with a few close losses. I think they've got another close loss in them, and they finish the season 11-5.

Nigeria Nightmare(s?)

Current: 5th
Projected: 3rd

Nigeria wins out, and due to their win against Beltway, they nab the 3rd seed.

Beltway Bandits

Current: 6th
Projected: 4th

Beltway wins out, and due to their loss to Nigeria, end with the 4th seed.

Angola Wave

Current: 7th
Projected: 8th

Angola is very inconsistant. They lose to teams you'd think they'd beat, and then they beat some of the better teams. I predict they end the season at 9-7, losing to Quicama, thus dropping to 8th

Saskatoon Volcanos

Current: 8th
Projected: Outside looking in

Saskatoon is a good team, but there are many good teams in Lion. I predict a couple tough losses and a win, which isn't good enough to get into the playoffs.

Quicama Park Rangers

Current: 9th
Projected: 7th

Throw, throw, throw, throw, throw. That's what Quicama does. It won't be good enough against Brazzaville, but it should be good enough against the other two opponents. A 9-7 record, including a win over Angola will be enough to secure the 7th seed.

Elephant

Swaziland 1st

And then some other teams hoping to upset Swaziland and play for a silver trophy and that's it.

Of course, I could be way off on some of these, and one or two games difference, and these will shake up quite a bit.

Hopefully though, this will spur some forum activity.

You're about due another OAI mistake that caused you to lose the game.

Good reading, bro. For me there are 3 outstanding candidates for th Gold in the Lion Conference. In no particular order:

Zimbabwe Bulls are dark horses and my tip to win the whole thing with arguably the best game-planners (surely they've outgrown the error-strewn mid-season). Any hiccups in the AI and they've had it.

Brazzaville have an incredible secondary but it's the team's last chance to make an impression seeing as many will be facing years of creeking joints come season 12. Their success ies in the fact that they pretty much out-level anyone and everyone in our conference - good recruiting and good mangement to sate the EQ appetites.

Barbary Coast are probably pound-for-pound the best builds in LC and it'll take a huge effort to overcome these guys

Sidenote: GL Brazzaville, I look forward to an attractive offensive display from both teams.

Thanks. I'm no writer, obviously. I'm just trying to liven up these forums a little. If my day wasn't so busy, I'd do a little more homework on these teams and think of some one-liners for each, to make the post a little more entertaining.

Hoping to not sound to pompous, but I'd have to agree, that for our levels, BCP has a pretty good team. Thanks for the compliment. We also have some pretty good coordinators.

I think our OC and I have finally figured out how to take advantage of teams stacking the box against us, so "buyer beware."

I also fixed your post for you. You had a small mistake there.

You have a good team, no doubt. I'm sure if you hadn't tried that little "wildcat" thing against us, you could've made the game respectable, at least.

However, BCP has played both Nigeria(n?) and Beltway for the last two years, and Beltway for the last four.

Both of these teams seem to be underachieving this season, and I expect them to pick it up from here out. They both look to be making one last push for a championship before retooling. If you don't know, both of these teams were in APL last season, so they have what it takes to make it to the next level.

While I like our, the Pirates, chances in the playoffs (insert Jim Mora PLAYOFFS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdUr5hF0yGc&feature=related) I will say watch out for Somalia in the playoffs. They have good levels and builds and the games they have lost have been very close.

Several important games amongst the 9-4 teams. Who going to get those 3 and 4 seeds?

I've got to say that Barbary has been very impressive this season. I really didn't count on you guys being as competitive as you have been and I would personally pick you guys to win it all.

This season has been a mystery for Angola. We had an AI glitch in the Mambas game that didn't get fixed for the Saskatoon game. That being said, it probably only cost us the Mambas win.

We haven't been competitive against teams like the Bulls and Braccville...total blowouts. Then again, we've beaten the second tier teams like Nigeria, Beltway, and Somalia.

All in all, this is the toughest conference (Lion) that I ever remember being in.

Thanks for the compliment about the gameplanning. I agree with ya there...we have "arguably" the best game-planners. Im not claiming to be the best OC or have the best DC..but overall..we are pretty well up there. Id say VERY dark horses to win it all. We would have to pull off some serious bullshit to win it all here.

Yes yes that one game where we did zero gameplan and the wildcat shit screwed us up...im still not confident we would have beaten you guys. You have an awesome team and i told my guys at the beginning of the season that i didnt think we could win it all. We would do well but not all the way. W/o the wildcat stuff vs you guys though we might have had less fumbles by our RB at the QB formation...plus those 10 attempts would have been by our QB. Going by his averages that game it would have meant approx another 100 yards or so..less ball control by you guys etc etc. Maybe alot closer. =)

I dont think you guys could have beaten brazzaville..we played them 2 times last season and i know they are a powerhouse team. As for your game vs the Bulls...i think it was a fluke with QUINCY beating you guys down. I swear he was in a fucking zone. I mean really..who passes for 90% completions vs a competitive team in this league?
