Warrior General Games

Hey guys!

Just asking for some advice. I have two level 19 players (OC & OG) that are starting to look around for some decent advanced gear. Obviously line general would be awesome for my OC, but other than that I am really drawing a blank.

I have been drawn to the idea of foundation or hands, but that might just be because I like intruiging sounding SAs!

Ultimately both players are going to be balanced blockers with natural 100 in blocking and strength for my OC and natural 90 blocking and strength for my OG. So I am not nec looking for mauler type skills, more just SAs or % increases that complement the balanced build. I suppose it would be prudent to pick a predominant pass and run block SA from each tree for each player and try to locate two pieces withthose in them.

So with that in mind, what do people suggest?

if it is a LG, I would go with Shock Block or Foundation.

For a RG, Get Low and Maybe Hands ( I don't personally have much experience with it though, just do not like Cut Block or pancake)

I don't believe Hands is available on AEQ, a holdover from when Hands and Smooth Operator used to do nothing. Of course, you could just invest the raw points in it... after investing five base in Get Low to enable it, which you can combine with a piece of AEQ to get 10-11 in that too.

for LG, foundation & hold block. for RG, get low and foundation. the thing about get low, is it's cheaper to get high naturally than foundation, and imo you can't really pass block without foundation against top competition.

would you ever want 2 foundation pieces for a LG?

Darn that is a shame. Will likely take your advice though, try for a 'Get Low' Piece and move it to natural 5 as well, which allows me to invest the full whack in hands. It seems fairly obvious foundation is the other choice for my guard, which will save the investment in that piece as well.

The OC though I am still unsure of. I guess Line General appears to be one of the choices, but what do others feel about his other piece? I doubt he will be making a huge investment in pancake or cut block as he will have a very high strength and blocking already. So would it be worth investing in foundation as well? That way I can do a natural investment into 'Get Low' which will work out a ton cheaper. Thoughts?

I just picked up a +2 Str, +1 Get Low for my RG. I am pumped about getting some upgrades into it.

Been a pain in the ass finding the riht AEQ though.

perfectly logical. you will have to get a few points in run blocking to for get low which will probably make him better in the long run too.

Personally I do not like to touch the pass block tree for C, I dont believe they need foundation even at the higher levels. There fore for my Cs I put the CE tree bonus to the run side, pick up 2 x LG pieces of AEQ (at 40 u have it at 8 which is high enough) and only spend SPs on run block and get low from the pass tree.

I have a high level C I retired , I liked the build but we were starting the team over, his trees looked like:

0-0-0-0-8
6-11-1-1-1

I was happy with his performance and am building my current Cs with the same goals.

EDIT: I just think getting primaries to where u want them is more important than most SAs, at least for the o-line. (bring agility and confidence up to 73 and watch your line dominate)

just rolled another piece that is intriguing, but am kinda shying away from it since I am trying to build a Run Block G, not a Pass Block LG

It's a good piece but like you allude to, it's not ideal for a run blocking RG who doesn't face a lot of pass rushers.
