I really disagree that you need to double-cap speed. Really, where is your C moving? At most he moves a couple yards from the LOS while hanging onto a DT or two. Even for special teams I don't see a need for the C to have 60 speed. Hell, my C has 50 speed and I don't think he's allowed more than 1 sack every 6-7 games at the absolute most for the last several seasons. For run-blocking, you're moving them laterally maybe a yard. Again, no speed needed.

I have to agree with Oct on this one. I think the C needs the speed to reach the second level of blocking, especially when playing against a nickle defense. I often see the C sluff off the NT to a G and move up to block the MLB or an OLB coming across the middle to blindside the HB.

Here is how speed is for a C...

You have it at 40, you think you're fine, not giving up any plays
Then you take it to 60, and holy shit, your C starts MAKING plays you never could have done before.

You don't NEED 60 speed, but I HIGHLY recommend it. Here is an example that simply would not happen if I didn't have 60 speed.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=714912&pbp_id=3308272

That was a (fine) 5 yard gain without 60 speed. A 37 yard TD with 60 speed.

Granted, that defense and other team sucked, but it doesn't change the fact you can SEE the 60 speed doing something on my C, and I've seen him do this against legit teams also.

agreed w/ Oct, I'm at 61 speed http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=715432&pbp_id=3166854

you don't NEED it, but it's nice, because a lot of the time even my C is just stuck in the middle spinning in circles with no one to block. at least the speed gives him the chance to go and block someone he's not lined up across from before the play ends

No, that was a 5 yard gain without 70+ agility to get your fat ass turned around so quickly. My C moves that fast on special teams, so it's not 50 vs 60 speed.

Sta, Con, Spd above 50, if not 60.

then to get low>foundation> Line General to 10> run block/pass block

Well, all I'm saying is I've noticed a substantial improvement in my Cs ability to make plays after bringing speed up higher.
