The Build Guru's are the guys who can keep up with the changes of the sim. They are also the guys who try out every single thing possible for every position. I don't consider myself a build guru. I do like to try to keep up with the changes of the sim and try different things out. If it sucks retire, start over. There are these kinds of guys. There are also guys who just get on here and train then add points randomly. They may or may not have success. When they do have success they have no idea why. Some of us can pretty much pinpoint why they are having success, and can tell you what to expand upon. So in a sense it's not unreasonable to think build guru's are out there. I try to help the best I can. I don't tell everyone everything about every little thing though. I am not holding No one's hand. Some things work, some don't. Some things work in combination with other things (atty's, s.a's, v.a's) etc..... Knowing those things gives you an advantage over everyday normal players. So I consider them build gurus.
But if you take a guy like Octowned, You realize he studies every facet of the game. He cracks build bars, he cracks everything. He can tell you exactly what's going to work and what won't FTMP. He studies the game, experiments, does things different than everybody. I consider him a definite build guru. He takes the time to experiment, then let's everyone have it as "common knowledge" He could hoard the information he retains, but he doesn't. That's a true build guru in my eyes. There are half guru's as well, And some guys who don't know dick about why their guy is doing good, or bad.
Summary. There are definitely "build guru's" in this game.
