It always sucks to lose a game like that. We did our best to keep you from making the big play. My hat off to the coaching staff of the Highlanders for a great game plan. You guys picked us a part, bit by bit. You guys deserve the Championship.
As for my team, I am very proud of you guys. We made a few adjustments, but if it worked it would have been the right call. We played hard and held a very powerful offense to just 1 TD and 5 FGs. Thats an achomplishment in itself. Hopefully you guys will stick around for another exciting season of Firebird football!

Congrats our Highlander brethren, had one helluva season. Makes it a little easier to swollow losing to you guys after seeing what you've done with your opportunity. You couldn't write a better script. Hats off to Coach Schaar and the Firechickens as well. You guys were the constant underdogs during the regular season and all you did was blow #1 ranked teams out all year. It sucks that two of our best competitors and coolest teams are moving up, but hopefully we'll be seeing you guys on the green again sometime.
All in all I'd say this was an amazing season from start to finish. Some bigtime rivalries surfaced, teams were gutted then rebuilt with help from teams in the league, a couple of 2nd and 3rd seeds met up in the championship game for a helluva game. I'd say this season had everything you want in a great season of highs and lows. Who can forget the beauty of Zebo13 getting a four day forum ban right in the thick of the playoff run? I tell ya it had it all! And you guys thought I just quit posting cuz we got bounced out.. LoL

Congadulations as well Firebirds, you guys held true to form, this was just the Highlanders time, this was a battle and could have gone either way for 3 1/2 Qts, and took every ounce of coaching, scouting, gameplanning and player builds & training, from the coaching staff on down to the waterboy to win this one! My hat is off to you as well, you are more than a worthy opponent.
