Strength of Record

Equation

Strength of Record = (Total number of wins of opponents you have defeated) - (Total number of losses of opponents that have beaten you)

Definition

This is measure of how good a team is. It rewards beating good teams and punishes for losing to bad teams.
Quality of Play

Equation

Quality of Play = (Actual total point differential) - (Predicted total point differential)

Definition

It is essentially how many points (total) that team has beaten (or not beaten) the spread by. I feel it is a good indicator of whether a team is playing better or worse than expected.

Thanks again DW. There is bound to be a massive amount of movement in the beginning, just as it will in the season, but for each game teams will all settle to where they belong.
