Hoping to try to and get this forum somewhat interesting and away from the nonsense that is most likely a direct result from a long off season....

First Topic:
Patriots best NFL franchise over the last 10 seasons and will be back in the Superbowl this season....Discuss!

I heard that the chiefs hired the patriot's camera man. Belichick is screwed this season.

hahahaha!

If I had to go with "the best franchise over the last 10 seasons" I'd go with the Steelers... Hurts to say that cause I'm a Browns fan.

As for this season, it all depends on how the Offense responds with the new OC.

I don't think they are head and shoulders better than the rest of the AFC. One injury, and they are screwed. There was a time when they were good enough to weather a couple of guys getting hurt, but I don't think they can do that with Pittsburgh breathing down their neck. Of course, Pittsburgh can't handle any injuries to their line, or they will be an average team this season.

I think this is going to be an interesting season. Can Indy keep Manning safe? If so, they can contend. Can Tennessee continue to win despite having no QB? I don't think they can, since Haynesworth is no longer anchoring the defense. Did Houston make the moves to give them a defense that can help one of the league's best offenses? I am hoping we did. Can the AFC West consolidate their teams and make a contender? I think that is against the rules, but it would be interesting. Can Baltimore survive their QB's sophomore slump?

I would discuss the NFC, but none of the teams are good enough to beat the AFC.

The Patriots have won 3 Superbowls and been to 4 in the last 10 seasons, no argument about who the best franchise is, although I will give the Steelers a close second. I've been lucky enough to have gone to 3 of the 4 Superbowls....

I agree the Patriots look like the best on paper, however, the taint of the whole camera-gate puts the Steelers ahead in my book. Being a Dolphins fan, it hurts to say either.

What is the taint of camera gate? Every team does it and every team did it, it was really just a lot of hyped up crap by the media in my opinion. You can't use that information during the game, it was all for future reference. The arrogance of Belichick made it worse than it really was because he kept doing it. The Dolphins won't sneak up on anyone this season, they did that last year. The AFC East will at least be interesting with TO in the mix up in Buffalo....

Thats a bold prediction without knowing how Brady will be this season. It took Carson Palmer 2 seasons to really get back into form. And the running game at NE is average at best, probably not even that good. Their defense is old, altho Mayo is a stud(Go Vols.) I just dont think they have it anymore. I could be wrong but I think the Steelers will be back strong and the Colts should be much improved without a gimpy Manning and a new stud RB. Harrison hurts but Gonzalez has stepped up and should cover that loss well.

I am assuming that Brady and his work ethic will put him ahead of others including Carson Palmer, plus 75% of Brady is probably as good if not better than Palmer. The running game will be set up by the passing game again and I think they will be fine with a healthy Maroney, Taylor and Morris slamming away. Good luck to teams trying to stop Moss, Welker and Joey Galloway, to go along with Kevin Faulk coming out of the backfied. The Pats are somewhat old at LB, but their DL is still fairly young and Wolfork is a beast at NT. Nobody wanted to play the Pats at the end of last season even with all the injuries, this year they will be right back where they left off. Now if Brady goes down, can Michael Vick handle the offense?

To tell you the truth, that receiving corps in New England does not impress me. Galloway is an average thrid receiver. Moss has been good, but he is average as far as "go-to" guys go now. Welker is the only one who performs better than his role. Faulk is a good receiving HB, but if you are counting on the hands instead of the legs of a running back, you are in trouble.

I think New England is the favorite if they stay healthy. However, it is not their receiving corps that is carrying them.

I can't believe you just used "Moss" and "average" in the same sentence. This is Randy we are talking about not Santana or Sinorice. The guy is just 1 season removed from a 20+ td season. When he actually cares to put forth effort and try he's easily a top 3 WR in the league. EASY.

Moss is a freak of nature. If he had a brain he would have blown every record there is for a WR away. And I agree completely when he wants to play or puts the effort in, nobody can stop him, 3 people cant stop him.

The leading WR for TD's last season had 12, Moss had 11 coming from a first year QB who hadn't taken a snap since High School? Saying Moss is average is just ignorant, but opinions are opinions. Let's see what he does when they can't double him this season with Galloway being a deep threat and Welker doing his thing. News flash, the Patriots are not a running team, they come out and destroy people in 5 WR sets all day long, so why not have one of the best pass receiving RB's in the game, that being Faulk?
