I am a little bored right now, so I decided to try to get some life in this forum....

So, post the team name and how you decided upon it (even if the answer is, "it sounds cool.")

I will go first.

Name: Prague Defenestrators

Why?: We were originally in Western Europe, which is why the name was appropriate when first created. I decided upon this because the Defenestration of Prague was one of my favorite events learning about in European History.

Warning (learning ahead)...

The Defenestration of Prague was the start of the Thirty Years War (a religious war the consumed Europe in the early 1600s). It is often separated into four phases by historians (the Bohemian Phase, Danish Phase, Swedish Phase and the French Phase).

Also, defenestration = throwing someone out a window.

Now that you know more than you ever cared to know about my team name and why I chose it, share yours.

Name: Alabama krimson Tide, because its Alabama! my favorite team.

New Orleans-Las Vegas Voodoo Rebels

I wanted to rep the city i'm from (N.O.) and the city i live in now (LV) and i wanted to come upw ith something representive of both cities, so i just combined the N.O. voodoo with the vegas rebels.

Galaxy Aces

This team has been around since season 1. Previous owner sold at the end of season 6 and I picked up a gutted and reset team. Being former US Air Force and an Airline Pilot, I decided the name fit the flying theme and kept it.

California Kings started out as the San Francisco Queens. The original owner thought it was funny I guess. He went inactive in season 2, I then took over and my first action was to change the name. I live in California so it fit nicely.

The Canberra Wolverines is the name Bort gave us. I don't have enough imagination to come up with anything better.

Hmm....Season 7, Oceania A right? I think I remember you guys

I'll speak for the owner. I dought he checks these league forums. The Owner(bigdawg58267) and I are from the same home town. Northwood, ND. Population of about 900.(I live in Fargo now) I got him into GLB a few games into s2. About half way through he bought a team and made me a GM. Around that same time, the Northwood high school had to combine sports with the nearby town of Hatton ND. Because of dwindling enrollments. Both towns dropped their nicknames and became the Hatton-Northwood Thunder (lame). So bigdawg named his team after our old high school, the NORTHWOOD TROJANS. Not sure why all capps. I think it's because he needs the Capps Lock on while at work.

I noticed a longtime GLB rival has entered Zeta. The California Kings. What's up Blazer. Welcome to Oceania AA. Honestly I would have rather seen you guys go to the Alfa side.

Hornell Hooligans:

I'm from a small city in western NY (old railroad boomer) and the city's name is Hornell.. We're a bunch of drunken Hooligans around here so i figured the name and city worked well together and was accurate!

Hey dsog. I was glad to see a familiar team in the league.

Small Giants...well the NY Giants are my favorite team and well the Small seemed to fit...

Looking forward to a competitive season. I took last one off mostly so hopefully I'll be more active in this one. good luck all.

Windsor Wyld Turkeys...

Started off in Western Europe as a farm team for some other Windsor teams.

We were once the Flying Turkeys, but we merged with another team called the Wyld Stallions...

...and * * poof * * we became the Wyld Turkeys.

I will apologize in advance what members of my team post, they are most likely drunk off their arses.... otherwise they do not post in league forums. Best of luck to all this coming season.

The Dayton Warriors, The team when i bought it was originally named the PT Warriors, well me and my GM's are from Dayton, OH so we changed it to Dayton Warriors... we also have a slowbuild team the Dayton Outlaws.

We will be undefeated this season btw
