Warrior General Games

will not be advancing on into Season 11. I've spent the better parts of two seasons mulling this decision over. Sydney has had a great history and we worked pretty hard to get to the OPL. It took us longer than we wanted but there were some good teams that just kept us from making it. Then when we finally did make it, we had some setbacks that hurt us and we never were able to recover the 'magic' that we'd had.

So, I have not renewed my ownership and the team has gone back to the league. the Pelican players are for the most part already spoken for.
Therefore I will announce that the Sydney Pelicans that were, are now merging with the Sydney Sea Wasps that are. We will be changing the team name but we'll still be Sydney.

This has been in the works for a few weeks and we've had great agreement and uniformity of purpose. A large number of Pelican players are now in the process of moving over to the current Sea Wasp roster.

IU Hoosier and I have worked with others to form a new team that will be competitive in this league in Season 11 and beyond.

Farewell Sydney Pelicans and Sydney Sea Wasps, long live the Sydney Jellybirds.

The story of this merger cannot be told without the use of modern technology. There were so many wrinkles in the plan…..

First, the Sea Wasp GM’s approached Polished Rock and @pp1e about the idea of a merger. They were a bit resistant in the beginning, but our GM, NUK, found a loophole:

We also had a little problem the first time that Badger Backer (you’ll see him in his suit) and RedDeath101 (dressed in his coaching gear and hat) met, but Polished Rock brought in his Pelicans to bring order:

lol, I'm afraid of your cheerleaders. Don't know if that was dancing or an epileptic seizure.

Damn Rock, wish I had known (though when i wrote up the next season thread I had a feeling), would have gladly brought you in to the Gunners. Both Sydneys have been a pleasure to battle against and both have been a thorn in the side of my squad, usually blowing out a tire on our convoy towards domination. I shake my fist at both of your teams but I also salute you.

We had a good run and it's always been nice butting heads with the Gunners. I look forward to more fun with Guadalcanal. You guys are going the right direction.
