I have been reading tons of posts and the wiki, and I really appreciate that so many guys are so helpful. This is my first shot at GLB, and I've learned a lot.

One of the things that gets me confused though is SSB. Some people talk about it in terms of the earlier days of the game, and I'm not sure that some of what I've read applies today.

I'm going to create a new player or two and because of what you guys have taught I'll avoid a bunch of mistakes I made with my first guy (hope I can recover).

I think that I want my next guy to be a super quick DE who is really a load to handle. I'm thinking about a guy who should be less concerned about the first few seasons so that he is a monster later. If SSB is still an option, how do you go about loading up for a few seasons these days as a practical matter?

SSB is an option if you want to dominate low level talent. SSB guys, though, will rarely (if ever) make it to the Pros.

In SSB, you roll your player, then do not play in games. You pick the most important attribute and train the hell out of it. When training stops being more productive than level gains (typically around the mid 30s, though I could be off on exactly when for each different position), you dump points in it, then work it up to wherever you feel that attribute is "finished" (normally, 68 or 74). You then do it for the next attribute, and so on. It can be pretty boring, since you don't play any games until you're done with the "super slow" part.

SSB D.E. IMO.

You get a sugar Daddy team to pay your way but leave you on the bench.

You roll him and get the best roll possible. All 8's in the right hand column bottom 5. You want him about 6'4 6'5 275+

You just train speed and agility first till it's like 35-40. Which should take pretty much the first season.
I usually go to 28 each on those, but the more the better. You want to train as much as possible while not leveling as much as possible.

Once you get speed and agility between 28-40, (your choice, based on how patient you are) you dump all your sp's into speed and agility to 49, and any remaining into agility. You need to save the initial 15. save every s.p. you get the whole season, By the end of the first season you'll be about level 4, and should have at least 30-35 agility and speed through training. Boost your guy 3 times at the end of the season. (this isn't optimal for SSB, but my opinion is why waste boosts.)

Now at this point you can sing a d-league contract at level 7. You can dump all your s'p's, where you want them (agility perfered for the d.e you are talking about wanting).

Or SSB for one more season. You train str and tackling the next season. You will hit level 10. the end of season boost to 13. Join a 13 capped league and dominate.

The trick to SSB is to get your main attribute. (agility and speed in your case) as high as possible before leveling.

You can get agility to the 68 cap (level 10ish maybe earlier depending on roll) or 74ish by level 13. What this does it let you gain a full.50 a level on agility from level 13-22 at 74 agility. which will bring it to about 78 natural at level 22, which is pretty rocking. You can do this normally, but the SSBer will have str and tackling about 30ish by level 13 as well. At this point you can start training vision/confidence together, or jumping and stamina if stamina is an issue. or alternate.

This is off the top of my head, probably not the best explanation. I hope it helps.

It will be extremely boring if you only have one or two players.

If you SSB a HB properly you could probably get a top 10 ranked player in GLB

How do you find a team that will let you bring along a player like that?
