I have not tried this but I suspect it could work if you stopped at 61. That is probably the minimum to multiply well with SAs and VAs. That is just my guess. Most my players have well over 68 in blocking w/o eq.

Some would say yes and others would say no. For me it is all about planning for how the sim will be and not how it currently is. I strongly feel that blocking will be more important in the future and is already important to the higher tiered leagues. Right now in the lower leagues such as minors a ridiculously strong O lineman with low blocking can be very good. It is just that later on holding blocks becomes important when the competition is equally as strong or agile.

The sticky above is really a pretty good guide for building O linemen. I like it but remember it is only a guide. If you want a cookie cutter O lineman that will be popular as a FA that is a great guide. If you want to take a chance with an experiment that is cool also but you must prepare for a hard time getting signed unless your build can produce.

Good luck.

Yeah, I agree with AD. Blocking is not needed at low levels b/c you can pancake the opposition every play.

If you want instant success, I'd boost strength early, and blocking later.

It would be interesting to see how a really well built lineman with only 50-55 blocking could perform against good competition, but everything I've seen has shown that they wouldn't perform very well.

first 15 plays:
instant contact, then the dot shrinks (reverse pancakes and desperate cut block attempts)

the rest of the game:
15 % false starts + sacks/hurries on pass plays / falls down instantly on run plays

... but he'll be the pancake champion when playing a gutted CPU-team!
