Time for a new thread. No rerank, I'm afraid - I'm still typing one-handed, which is slow.

Corona Del Mar Cougars vs. Aggieland Fightin' Farmers 14-44 Garuda Conference
While the outcome is not necessarily surprising, the margin of victory certainly is. The Cougars have put up exceptionally good defense this season, and will not be happy with giving up 37 offensive points (Yes, I actually look at the games - one TD was by the defense). After a tough time the last two weeks, Aggieland reaffirms itself as a possible #4 seed and a home playoff team.

Surabaya Tsunami vs. Shanghai Steelers 3-83 Garuda Conference
Not much to say here - the better team won. (;

Shanghai Knights vs. Vietnam Veterans 255-0 Garuda Conference
Knights miss out on 400-0, but they'll take this result as well.

Hanoi Hitmen vs. Bayside Shakedown 0-255 Garuda Conference
After putting up 80 points the last three weeks, the Hitmen are shut out by Bayside. Of course, 70 of those points came against the Veterans..

Bangkok Beatdown vs. Sumatra Captains 41-9 Garuda Conference
Easy win for the Beatdown, who did well not to get caught looking ahead to the Aggieland game two weeks from now. The Captains improve their playoff positioning despite the loss due to results in other games.

Davao City Pirates vs. Merced Raiders 10-43 Garuda Conference
Solid win for the Raiders. With three playoff teams on the horizon, they're unlikely to win again this season.

Bien Hoa Vipers vs. Versailles Shinryuji Naga 76-10 Garuda Conference
Much like the Beatdown, the Vipers don't get caught looking ahead to next week's Aggieland game, winning on cruise control. Next week's matchup with the Farmers could lock up the #2 seed, or muck things up, depending on who wins (and possibly by what score).

Singapore Stallions vs. Yukon Gangsters 36-7 Garuda Conference
A somewhat surprising result, considering Yukon is likely playoff-bound and the Stallions are all but eliminated. Luckily for the Gangsters, they still look like a good bet for a playoff spot, but it will likely be the #8 seed rather than #7.

I will add that our game vs. the Farmers was our worst lose all season. They had 43 pancakes and we had 3. Either the game was just one of those were nothing went our way or in my opinion, they are the best team we have played so far.

Just can't figure this game out. We beat the Steelers and without several turnovers it is an easy win. Then the Steelers spank teams that kick our butt. Crazy.

Week 14 quick hits
Aggieland Fightin' Farmers vs. Bien Hoa Vipers 10-48 Garuda Conference
No problems for the Vipers, who easily put the Farmers away to earn the conference's #2 seed. Aggieland will have a huge game next week, needing a win against the Beatdown to pick up the #4 seed and home playoff game.

Shanghai Steelers vs. Hanoi Hitmen 255-0 Garuda Conference
*yawn*.

Vietnam Veterans vs. Corona Del Mar Cougars 0-255 Garuda Conference
*yawn*.

Merced Raiders vs. Shanghai Knights 41-97 Garuda Conference
High-scoring game, with the Knights easily putting away the Raiders despite allowing 400 yards to a WR.

Sumatra Captains vs. Surabaya Tsunami 48-12 Garuda Conference
Captains put away the Tsunami without much trouble, thus improving their playoff stock. Expect Sumatra to earn the #7 seed, barring a surprise loss to the Naga in week 16.

Bayside Shakedown vs. Singapore Stallions 37-34 Garuda Conference
In a very close game, the Shakedown pull out a squeaker. This keeps their "hopes" of finishing 9th alive. If that's the sort of thing they're honestly hoping for.

Versailles Shinryuji Naga vs. Bangkok Beatdown 6-41 Garuda Conference
The Beatdown.. well, beat down the Naga. Bangkok did not get caught looking ahead to their critical game against Aggieland in week 15, which will have a huge impact on the race for the 4/5/6 seeds. The Naga aren't quite eliminated from the playoffs yet, but they'll need to win both remaining games and catch positive tiebreakers to sneak in.

Yukon Gangsters vs. Davao City Pirates 34-3 Garuda Conference
Gangsters put up an excellent defensive showing Vs. the pirates to effectively clinch postseason berth. Week 15/16 games against the Knights and Cougars will give them a chance to see how they measure up to top competition.

I agree with you. Every time I think I understand it, something like this happens. Perhaps it's down to match ups.

Nice game Vipers. You really killed us in turnovers and special teams. We forced some fumbles and got some sacks but we couldn't capitalize.

Nice write up again Crawly. Depending on this next game, the Farmers probably either finish #4 or #6. Other things could happen but that's the likely result. Should be a good game but.... then again, who knows.

C'mon, man. Bayside is underleveled for this league, everybody knows that. We're doing the best we can. For a team called by some a "joke" in preseason, I'd say 9th place would be pretty respectable.

I know I do - my assessment in the midseason rankings, you'll recall, was:
12. Bayside Shakedown (3-6). The Shakedown haven't had much to write home about, and likely won't until the season ends, either. A week 14 date with the Stallions should tip the scales on who gets the best-of-the-worst bragging rights. Bayside has many players on its roster that are somewhat underleveled for AA play, so they should at least have a brighter future to look forward to.

I'd very much agree, though I don't expect you guys to finish that high. However, like it or not, no team goes into a season thinking "Hey, it'd be great if we could finish just outside the playoffs!". You either aim for the playoffs, or you aim to avoid relegation and put up a respectable season - whether you finish 9th, 11th, or 13th is irrelevant as long as you meet that goal (and from my perspective, at least, you have). If your goal to start the season was the #9 spot, I'll be the first to stand in line to congratulate you if you achieve it, though - but if that's the case, I also reserve the right to refer to you guys as complete and utter failures if you end up #10.

Due to circumstances outside our control, there will not be any quick hits this week. I'll do my best to write up a season-ending set on Monday, along with a playoff preview.

Understandable. We'll be looking forward to your season ending write up and playoff review if you have a chance to do those.

Week 16 mega-short hits
Aggieland Fightin' Farmers vs. Surabaya Tsunami 64-0 Garuda Conference
Farmers easily dispatch the Tsunami to lock up the #4 seed. Up next: Cougars. Aggieland won the regular-season matchup by a whopping 30 points, but don't expect a repeat in the playoffs - this is likely to be a tightly-contested game.

Shanghai Steelers vs. Singapore Stallions 62-10 Garuda Conference
Steelers have no trouble locking up the #1 seed, though we knew this would happen several weeks ago. Up next are the Gangsters, which shouldn't pose a threat to Shanghai.

Vietnam Veterans vs. Bangkok Beatdown 0-255 Garuda Conference
*yawn*.

Merced Raiders vs. Bien Hoa Vipers 10-57 Garuda Conference
Vipers finish their regular season with an easy win and the #2 seed. They'll play the Captains next, and fully expect to win that game going away.

Hanoi Hitmen vs. Davao City Pirates 0-255 Garuda Conference
*yawn*.

Bayside Shakedown vs. Shanghai Knights 45-79 Garuda Conference
Knights have a rough defensive week, but pull off the win by a fair margin anyway. Up next are the Beatdown. Once again, the higher seed won this matchup easily in the regular season - by 68 points, in fact - and once again, the playoff version should prove to be a lot more competitive.

Versailles Shinryuji Naga vs. Sumatra Captains 26-30 Garuda Conference
The Captains barely pull off a win that gets them the #7 seed and ends the season for the Naga. The Gangsters can let out a sigh of relief. Expect the Captains to be one-and-done in the playoffs, though.

Yukon Gangsters vs. Corona Del Mar Cougars 10-40 Garuda Conference
Unsurprisingly, the Cougars win a game that meant more to the Gangsters than it did to Corona. The Cougars earn the #5 seed and a rematch with Aggieland, hoping to do better this time. The Gangsters benefit from the Captains' 4th-quarter comeback against Versailles and squeeze into the playoff as the #8 seed, but it'll be a huge surprise if this extends their season by more than one game.

----

Sorry these were relatively short (and no rerank). Busy/crappy day/week. Quick thumbs up to the Naga for nearly squeezing into the playoffs, and earning the #9 overall seed, despite being underleveled, and to everyone who actually started and finished the season with a human roster and an effort to win games.

Good Stuff. Should be a great game tomorrow between the Cougars and Farmers. Hard to give either team a significant edge.

Good Luck Everyone.

I am surprised to see this comment. The Farmers totally kicked our butts just a few games ago.

We just hope to not lose by 30 this time!

As expected - two easy wins and two very tight games.

Much as I'd like to pick my own team next week, I'm hard-pressed to justify picking upsets in any of the four games - the #1 and #2 seeds seem like prohibitive favorites to advance to the championship game in both conferences, and frankly, I'd be very much surprised if the #1 seeds in both conferences fail to make it to the league championship.
