I own both a Standard and Casual team (plus a Pee Wee team too).

I enjoy both for their differences. Still, it irks me when people slam the Casuals, pulling some elitist crap that the Standard league is superior.

I point it out in Season 9.
Standard league = zero expansion (no new leagues)
Casual league = added higher cap level leagues and more lower cap level leagues.

Season 10
Standard League = 144 former A and BBB leagues have consolidated down to only 118 Minor league cloud leagues.
Casual league = added higher cap level leagues and more lower cap level leagues.

That's two consecutive seasons where the Casual League has grown and the Standard League hasn't.

'nuff said in my book.

I'm sure season 2 and season 3 saw an explosion of regular teams too. The math you're going off of is biased in the fact that casuals are the new big thing, it will be interesting to see if the popularity continues to rise. The amount of teams in pee wee's from it's first season to it's second was amazing, now they're downsizing leagues because many owners are leaving. As far as other people's elitist views, stop letting other people get you worked up with their nonsense. I own one of all 3, and enjoy all 3, although I'm getting out of pee wee's because it is bye far the most expensive to compete in.

Casual leagues are the future of GLB.

There are only so many people who have, the time, energy, skill, and the desire to manage the new AI.

You are most likely right. 20 mins of scouting and setting basic tactics does give a good bit of enjoyment. The one thing casuals will have to overcome is the cloud structure. Some people will get tired of the championship season followed by being pushed up 3 caps and having to struggle to compete.

I own one of each (regular, casual, and peewee).

To each their own, I suppose. For me it's regular = casual > peewee.
