Warrior General Games

Big games coming up in 2 weeks in Alpha.

Week 13: Dublin (10-1) vs Athenian (11-0)
Week 14: Dublin (10-1) vs The Amsterdam (11-0)
Week 16: The Amsterdam (11-0) vs Athenian (11-0)

All 3 teams are undefeated in the conference, and can be the #1 seed. In Week 13's game, Athenian can knock Dublin out of contention for the #1 seed. IF (and that's a big if) Dublin wins, The Amsterdam can STILL knock Dublin out of the running for the #1 seed. If both The Amsterdam and Athenian both beat Dublin, Week 16 will be for the #1 seed.

If Dublin wins both games (which I think is very unlikely, BTW), the week 16 matchup will be for #2 seed and Dublin will have the #1 seed.
If Dublin wins 1 or no games, Week 16 will be for the #1 seed.

I think all 3 teams are quality teams. I think one team is just a little better than the other two (and no, that better team is NOT Dublin, IMO).

Looking forward to the next 3 weeks to see how Dublin stacks up.

Yeah, I feel ya on this one. I was looking at the Red Devils and Grayhounds first, which are solidly the 4th and 5th best teams in our conference (no offense guys). Once we got past them, I've been fully focused on these two games.

You guys are definitely a scary team and a victory against you will need to be earned and not given. As far as you saying "one team is just a little better than the other two"...let's just say it: Either of us beating the Admirals is going to need all the stars aligning at the right time on the right day, plus a few sprained ankles in their starting line-ups. I'm not saying either of us can't beat them, but they are definitely at the top of the food chain.

I'm looking forward to our game Irishmen. Trash talking to begin this weekend.


EDIT: I also thing it would we awesome if we ended in a 15-1 tie!!!

It's going to be fun doing the scouting and gameplanning, that's for sure. Because of our week one loss, we really need to be successful here.

We'd be lucky to win one of those two games. If we split them then I am a happy camper.

who cares alpha doesn't matter

honestly i am looking forward to these games....the top three alpha teams are solid and it will be interesting to see what these teams are made of..because really up to this point they have not had to play anyone that was really any good....

3 things to consider.

1) Our loss in the first game of the season was a fluke. Not only did I not adjust the offensive AI from preseason, but I did not have a lot of information on the team to gameplan properly (one of the reasons I'm for the interConference games being in the first week of the season.

2) You can't consider any of the games against the very bad teams, as I have a VERY basic offensive and defense gameplan for use against teams we will dominate, designed to TRY to keep the score down and the game reasonable. There's only so much I can do when we are playing a team which really should not be in AA.

3) Athenian is a great team. Even better than I thought BEFORE scouting them. However, on defense they have a weakness which our team can exploit and on offense they will have trouble consistently moving the ball against us. We also have a weakness on defense, but I'm not tellin'

I think Dublin wins 33-20. Whatever happens, it's going to be a very good game. I, however, am still more interested in the week 16 Demigods/Admirals game - Wish that had been earlier so I have something more to scout... now, looks like Admirals will have the jump on us in scouting.

PS - I really hate to do this, simply because I seem to stick my foot into my mouth an AWFUL lot, as I have a great deal of confidence in my players and my gameplanning... unfortunately, sometimes it is OVERconfidence.

Yeah, it's definitely hard to scout you guys. I have to scout the "close" games, which there are not many of anyways. It will be hard to move on your dominant defense, but I believe we have enough weapons on offense to do it when we need to. I predict the Demigods win a close one 23-17.

Great game Demigods... your defense really handed it to our offense, and although our defense had 14 points, we still couldn't stop you when it mattered.
