Four remain standing after a fast and furious first round. Congratulations to all of you for making it this far, but for two of them, it's the end of the line.
Waco vs Las Vegas- previous meeting Waco won 21-7
Cheeks Vargas had the game of his life, completing 4 passes that the WR broke by the Cb for long gains. In the first half, it didn't matter where he was on the field, the threat of going all the way was enough to demoralize a rowdy Dallas defense into submission. The two headed monster of Harry Setatesties and Duke Nuke'em were mainly used as decoys to great effect as Dallas hovered near the line, only to watch helplessly as a pass sailed over their heads. On D, Guilherme Thewall was effective as usual keeping Dallas's backs from making headway. The only criticism of this team as it heads into the next round is that it's D needs more sacks/hurries or the higher level qb's will tear them up the way Las Vegas tore up Dallas.
Waco thought it was going to be smooth sailing against the Noobs but they found out that they were entering a storm. It wasn't that they were bad, but their every move was frustrated by a team with nothing to lose. It didn't help that the kicker missed 3 from makeable range, giving the Noobs reason to hope. The Kr/Pr were excellent for Waco, giving them decent field position on many of them but between the valiant D of the Noobs and the underperforming by Waco, it took OT to decide who would be victorious. Bevo, Zayn and Wolfgang once again ripped the noobs hearts out with 3 11yd plays in a row to seal the game. The Waco D played like the monsters they are but the O continually let them down.
If Las Vegas plays like it did in the first quarter against Dallas all game long, they could win BUT
Waco wins by 14
Great Plains vs Bel Air- previous game won by Bel Air- 13-6
Hayden Fry was cool under pressure, taking the beating Oakland was giving him and still posting impressive numbers. Tweeder got to do his end zone dance as Great Plains kept Spicewood at bay. The real offensive threat that the Reapers can rely on is their kicker, Goal Post who came through again on 4 for 4 including one from 52yds. In a field position game, he's going to come up big for them. The D was solid as usual led by the talents of Nick Shultz, Quinton Storm and Tubby Tank who made it their personal mission to make the QB downright antsy.
Bel Air is a hydra, that fictional beast with 9 heads. You cut one off and two grow back. An outstanding game on Offense featured a 72.4% completion rate and a 4.1 ypc. Spicewood kept chopping at heads of Big Ticket, Beard OG, Furious Monotony, Pops Racer, Deep Fried, Owen Wilson, Sudden Terror, Cordell Walker and Ben Stiller to no avail. The beast is loose and hungry for more.
Goal Post keeps the reapers in the game but Bel Air wins by 3
