Games of the Week:
#4 Nairobi Warthogs vs. #1 Windhoek White Rhinos
#2 Lake Opeta Legionnaires vs. #5 Somalia Pirates

Six weeks down, Ten to go and things are really starting to get exciting now in APL country. We had our first major surprise of the year last week as GRitS once again put their money where their mouth is by knocking off number 3 ranked DD. That's two victories over Top 10 teams in two weeks. Their victory over the #9 ranked Warlords the week before sort of flew under everyone's radar. But when this latest final score hit the morning papers, I'm sure it made more than a few people spit out their coffee into their laps. Like they say, once may a fluke but twice is a trend. I felt my own foot starting to creep toward my mouth after telling GRitS to put up or shut up in Week 2. Looks like they are putting up. If they can keep this run alive I'll be the 1st in line to man up and say I was wrong. Good job guys.

In other Week 6 news, The Sea Wolves put the smack down on their division rivals The Spider Monkeez, and as a result SISW gladly took the #3 spot on the poll while thanking DD for keeping the seat warm. Now they get to sit back and watch the 3 team round robin for the Lion Title begin this week...

In Week 7's first GAME of the WEEK, The #1 ranked Rhinos head to Nairobi to face the #4 Warhogs in the year's 1st major battle of the elite unbeatens. The 2 time defending Champs have something the Warthogs want, the respect, the 1st place spot, and most importantly... The Gold. Both teams have been impressive so far this season, but someone is going to come out of today's game with their flawless record ended. I'm sure that SISW is hoping The Rhinos come out of the battle worse for wear, because they will be licking their chops in two weeks when they invite WWR to visit their Wolves Lair. One thing's for sure... the heat in the Lion Conference is about to get turned up a notch.

Not to be outdone, Elephant Conference has a blood feud of their own this week. The Legos and The Pirates meet for the first time since the Elephant Conference Championship game last season. The Pirates have had several teams wanting revenge on them this year and have gallantly withstood the storm so far. But LOL has had one single unifying objective ever since that fateful game ended last year. Vengeance. No matter what happened this year, they promised to a man that Somalia would pay for keeping them out of the League Championship game. The bad blood in this matchup could make the SP vs SLS battle look like a kindergarten play. As a result the Lake Opeta police chief has forbidden any post game firework celebration, for fear that players from both teams would steal them to use on the field. This will be fun.

Ok I have to get ready for my own fun today. I'm off to battle against a few hundred hated Mets fans as they meet my Phillies today in my home park. I should see a couple of nice fights in the parking lot before the game even starts. I can't wait

Have a great 4th of July all of my American friends!! And the rest of you have a great weekend. Good luck everyone in your games today, see ya Tomorrow.

Toad Out

This. Entertaining and enjoyable as always. Honestly, part of me would like to see the Rhinos lose just to show they can be beaten because they are scary good. I knew we could beat the Rhinos last year, but wasn't sure if we would. This year, they are a completely different team. I honestly wonder what team can beat them, and I don't just mean what team in Africa.

Thats some pretty high praise you got there... But let me be the first to say, the Rhinos can be beaten practically any week if we aren't careful. Best of luck to everyone today! Loved the write up Toad, very enjoyable to read! Have fun at the game, and have a great 4th everyone!

Excellent job KT, as always. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to do these for the 9 teams that vote. It's a shame only 9 teams out of 32 in this league find these enjoyable, but it is what it is I guess.

Thanks guys. I wish we had 20 votes a week too, but as long as we get 9 - 13 votes I'm happy. It's when we get down to the 5 - 7 vote range that I start getting pissy hehe.
