1. Rhode Island Wolves- Perhaps the most battle tested undefeated emerging thus far from alpha. Their impressive win against a very good pirates team propelled them to the early lead in rankings and continued domination of lesser teams shows no reason for them to be moved down. Their next real test will come when they take on the Cardinals so don't expect them to be relinquishing the top spot anytime soon.
Offense: Lead by their smash and dash rushing assault which opens up the passing lanes for the leagues top ranked pass offense it's simply hard to rank anyone ahead of them
Grade: A
Defense: With a bookend like Harry Koch leading the charge, and surrendering a mere 10 yards of offense on average per game this appears to be what the team will rely on down the stretch should the passing game stall.......and it hasn't failed them yet.
Grade: A
2. Sexy MO Beasts with Hooters?!?- Breezing through their early season schedule with stockholm as one of the few games where they actually faced any competition, and they won quite one sided. Although the new look Beasts haven't played many real games in the regular season, several exhibition games scheduled against outside the league teams show just how dangerous this team can be and it's hard to bump them out of the top 2 despite facing a lack of competition.........this week they look to quiet the critics by taking down the cardinals, if they win their spot is cemented until they face another elite.........should they fall questions will be there, and reasonably so.
Offense: Lead by their 4 headed rushing assault and netting just under 4k yards on under 30 rushes per game make this team the most lethal team on the ground, however their aerial assault is nothing to scoff at with a completion percentage around 68 and getting sacked only one time with one interception they simply don't turn it over.
Grade: B+
Defense: The best defense in the league with opponents averaging negative yards per game, the pass rush is simply unreal (thanks bort for bringing it back
) with 117 sacks on the season, however the defense doesn't force too many turnovers with only 4 forced fumbles and 4 interceptions.
Grade: A+
3. Cincinnati Cardinals: With notable wins over the force, reign, and LOL.....the cardinals have played the toughest schedule in alpha, but it only gets tougher in the coming weeks. They've won in convincing fashion with their closest testing being a 32 point win over one of alpha's top teams.
Offense: With a very balanced attack and the hiphopotamus leading the charge the offense is lethal through the air and on the ground, however not particularly spectacular at either. Completing 68 percent of their passes and averaging 7 yards per carry is efficiency though and gets the job done.
Grade: B+
Defense: Allowing no opponent to score over 20 shows this defensive unit gets the job done. Lacking an elite level pass rush, getting 17 sacks on the season, the defense makes up for it in it's playmaking ability coming away with 7 picks and forcing 10 fumbles all of which their defense has recovered show that their opportunistic mentality that has them thus far undefeated.
Grade: A
4. Malaysia Marauders- Although personally i see this team finishing 6th in the league, you can't argue with their unscathed record to start the year. Their lone test of the season was the bloodbath who they played relatively close.........and won by 35.
Offense: Behind the strength of the leagues leading rusher, and the leagues top rush offense........albeit a one man show for the most part. Their passing game is lacking but who needs to pass when you have a 3k yard rusher 6 games into the season?
Grade: B
Defense: Not a flashy defenses, but it's been effective......8 interceptions, 8 forced fumbles and 42 sacks are all impressive but all numbers that i don't see going to much higher against real competition.
Grade: B+
5. Portland Force
6. Orlando Pirates
7. LOL! It's Bort's Fart Clouds
8. Heavenly Reign
9. Stockholm Bloodbath
10. Szabolcs Devils
11. Cape Town Carnivores
12. Leningrad Czars
13. Kingsbury Run Killers
14.St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals
15. Dateline Perverts
16. Sin City Outlaws
