Whats even worst is the fact that they couldn't even win in the first half of the season ....... 2-3? That's really sad when you outlevel everyone

LOL yeah but the only diff is at least we won the first 10 out of 11 games lol then died later... he should be doing good the first half of the season and then sputtering out.

But it still leaves you wondering why ANY team is still "that team". I keep thinking people will surely know better after "Early Boosting Fail" threads constantly get plastered all over the boards, but every season there are a couple teams that drop $100 on day 1 to "Boost themselves into Failure"

the only way your dropping a 100 bucks in a day is if everyone on the team is yours... when you have 30 people it really doesn't cost much.

10 out of 11 games, and that one game you lost out of the 11 was to us. 7th game of season 9. http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=534953

I know, that's why i said "teams" and not "people" or "agents". Its worth noting though that with every agent you add to your team, your chance of one of them failing at following directions and screwing up their builds, etc raises considerably, so having a bunch of agents to spread the cost is not an entirely free trade off.

In any case, the amount spent isn't really what i was getting at. Even if it was a nickel per player, you're still paying for the privilege of boosting your players at the wrong time and screwing up your season. It seems silly at ANY price, really

Theoretically...

What if you boosted all your starters on Day 1, then at playoff time boosted all your backups (which would probably make them the starters).

Wouldn't that give you the best of both worlds?

It would be tough to organize, probably... but if you could get everybody on board with the plan, it might be pretty dominant.

That Short Bus team does that http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=6898

They have their whole team on a boosting schedule, I believe they boost a QB, HB, and FB real early, then slowly start boosting more and more. It obviously works very well for them, but I still think its a waste to boost anyone early. We played them last season in a scrim, and they boosted the rest o f their unboosted players the night before. We kept it pretty close for only having 1 boosted person

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=567762

Moral of the story: Boosting early in any capacity is stupid

Indeed, ShortBus uses a tiered boosting schedule just like cyfen says, and it does work well for them. I only see a point behind doing it, however, if you have reason to believe you may lose some of your early season games.

If you can win all the games you need to without boosting (which shouldn't be difficult, especially if you set the bar at "making the playoffs" and not "undefeated season"), then the strongest possible team would still be one where you boost nobody till right before the playoffs, and then boost them all. This way both your starters AND backups are equally powerful, whereas with tiered boosting, only half your team is at its true potential when you need them most.

Further evidence to support the jist of this thread:

Riverside = nearly fully boosted (mostly lvl 7)
DoRD = no boosted players (all lvl 5)

132-0
