Other Teams receiving votes: Somalia Warlords - 8, Angola Dream - 4, Rwanda Royal Knights - 2

New teams in the Top Ten: Somalia Pirates, Ghana Buffalos

Teams dropping out of the Top Ten: Angola Dream, Angola Blood Diamonds

Games of the Week:
#2 LOL vs #9 Ghana
#4 SISW vs RRK

Only 7 people voted this week. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to give me a list, but I do hope for a minimum of 10 after each game. All of you new APL teams get your voices heard.

The Top 5 all stayed the same and in place this week, but we had some action in the bottom 5.

The Pirates take their place back in the elite, I mean Jeez they were only in the league final last year and they lost to a pretty damned good Sea Wolves squad in week one. But you guys are ruthless and made them earn their way onto your list. They were up to the task, defeating a highly talked about GRitS team by 15 points.

Speaking of GRitS... I saw the posts, I saw the disagreement about their ranking or lack thereof...but I stayed out of it. Half the fun of these rankings is when you guys argue about the results, but that's why they are here in the 1st place. To give respect to the best teams, and to give everyone something to debate about.

But I have some advice for GRitS. Don't talk about playoffs if you start 0 -2. Get some wins under your belt 1st, then ask for some props. This isn't your grandpop's APL, these teams are all getting better and better every year. The Top APL teams are some of the best in GLB. Ask the teams that won Africa AAA last year. They both got a quick wake up call when they came to APL. No easy playoff berth here, no way.

The other new team making the Top 10 is the new APL All Star Squad, Ghana Buffalos. It was only a matter of time before people noticed these guys are for real this year. This game against LOL tomorrow will be a big test for both teams.

In the week 1 game of the week results, The Warthogs made an early strong statement by blowing out the always good Warrior Kings in very impressive fashion. DD also knocked ABD off of the Top 10 list with their decisive win.

I just want to tell you guys that my Wed nights are bowling night so you'll have to forgive me if I keep the polls bare bones on Wednesdays. I think I'm gonna keep the in depth 10 team reviews to Fridays when I have time and beer on hand. That will give you something to shoot for, win tomorrow, make the Top 10 and get talked about in depth the next Coaches poll.

And one last thing for you slappies saying, "We should be ranked higher this is bullshit.." Ask yourself one question. Did anyone from your team vote? If you don't vote, you can't complain. Lets get a better turn out Friday.

Good luck everyone!!

Toad Out.

I gotta start of this edition of the coaches poll right...

Seychelles too high

Thanks for these KT. If jdawg ever forgets to vote, let me know and I'll put something in...or I'll go bug him until he votes

I was surprised the Pirates dropped out of the Top 10 last week. Nothing against ABD, but I thought the Pirates should've at least had that #10 spot. After two weeks, I like them, SLS, DD, and LOL in Elephant for your final four for Elephant side of the playoffs. Of course, I could change my mind by week 16, but I honestly don't think that I will.

I guess this is directed at me. I understand why we are not ranked and not to worried about it. I think we are overall better that last year with our new coaching staff. Looking forward to the rest of the season and see how it plays out

Hey man I called out The Pirates early last year and said they were on the list by reputation alone. They then proceeded to beat 3 of Elephants best teams in a row in the playoffs and make me look like a fool in the process. It's a long season bro, I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong... if you prove me wrong I'll be the 1st one to give you your props.

Here is some advice Toad, stick to rankings because you do them well! As far as the GRitS, I have owned this team for many seasons and we have never not made the playoffs so I don't plan on not being in the dance this season either. Our chemistry will be back and we will make some noise in Seasons 10 and 11. I need to get back involved in this forum!

I don't rank...I just report the results... and you my friend are in 12th place after 2 weeks. You have yet to play the Elephant "Elite". Like I said, prove me wrong and I'll give you the headlines you deserve, but make noise when you are 0 - 2 and I'll give you the kind of press you may not like.

I don't really see all the noise, I alone made one post, and retracted it after thinking about it for a couple hours and decided it would be better to be underated than overrated

EDIT: but to move along, great job as always

So now you bring down the team that represented the Elephant in the APL Championship? Seems like they beat LOL yet they are not elite? What does that make LOL?
