It seems like I'm not getting as many tackles and good enough stats. I'm trying to build up a solid LB. Ive tried many different tactics. what should i b doing different?

ahh my friend you should have come here earlier. You have made many classic "newbie" mistakes. Start off by going to glbwiki.com (there's a link up top) and reading about "soft caps" and leveling. Basically, you should have not wasted a bunch of SP in the SAs (special abilities), rather you should have focused on primary attributes (agility, speed, tackling, vision) and raised those to the soft cap, one at a time, as quickly as possible). You have to be willing to be somewhat of a sucky player your first season and not try to be "balanced" and do everything well.
You may want to consider retiring and starting over once you understand the concept of "slow" or "cap" -building.
