Now that I have been tricked into doing east and west, I'll make it just one thread. Only 3 more editions for the soon to be defunct USA A8. I'll may have to write for my own team next season.

#1 Furious George v #4 Maine Hawks
Furious now plays the only team that held them under 100 points in the regular season. Additionally, Furious had only 245 yards of total offense and lost a fumble. So Maine, did awesome, right? Well, no. They still lost by 61 and got some Le Peanuts shoved up their bungholes. Additionally, Daydream Believer and friends made the Maine special teams look as if it were manned entirely by homecoming queens. Furious has also opened up their play book considerably since the first meeting, making the challenge even more difficult. Does Maine has a shot? Technically yes, but my prediction: Furious 71, Maine 21.

#2 Montana Grizzlies v #3 Atlanta Wolves
A rematch of a fantastic game from a couple of "weeks" ago, a 37-33 Montana win where yardage was virtually even. Montana did score on special teams, while their QB, Will Elliott seems to have confused Montana purple for Atlanta red in throwing 3 picks. I am sure Atlanta noticed post-game that their o-line was able to road grade pretty well and they had a good rushing average and they will need more of that since they cannot assume they will be able to get 3 INTs once again. I anticipate that Atlanta will come out with a very run-heavy scheme and so will Montana since they had good success against the Wolves, especially with Fast Freddie. Look for another close one. Montana 31, Atlanta 28.

#1 Burleson Assassins v #4 Memphis Showboats
Burleson (aka Furious lite) has yet to have a close game, even against a talented Memphis team that they beat 68-0. They out-gained Memphis that game 572-195, mostly through the air. Memphis was completely unable to run against Burleson, but had some decent success passing when they could protect their QB. Both of these things tend to suggest that the Memphis o-line is a bit over-matched. Additionally, when Burleson did run, their average was a sick 6.1 per carry and their line gave up no sacks and only 2 hurries in 41 pass attempts. The complete Burleson dominance on both lines means they almost certainly win here as well, but expect Memphis to throw everything but the kitchen sink at them. Burleson 52, Memphis 21.

#2 Southside Spartans v #3 The Bronx Bears
This game should be gold, as the Spartans went into the Bronx earlier this season and escaped with a 48-47 win in an absolute shoot-out, despite losing the overall yardage battle in a game that had no turnovers whatsoever. Both offense lines absolute dominated the d-lines, as the teams combined for a total of 1 sack and both averaged over 5 yards per carry on the ground. Both defenses will have to make some adjustments and I suspect whomever wins the turnover battle wins this game and neither of their QBs is particularly turnover-prone. I would expect both teams to go run-heavy. This is is as evenly matched as Atlanta and Montana and I expect another very close game. The Bronx 38, Southside 35.

I smell a scrimmage/avatar bet in the works!

Furious with WRs at DL vs. Maine as-is.

Montana is running the field goal block every play in order to stop the Atlanta run.
