It doesn't look like Hartford is sticking around....so, if anyone would like the services of Colt Rivers, send me a PM with Colt's name in the subject line (I have a few players looking for teams this offseason, and it's just easier that way).

Wow, from 1st in the conference to folding in one day? It's just one loss, you can move past it!

To my knowledge it was the plan from the get go.....so no, it wasn't a 1 day decision.....

Weird and coincidental.

PACharger, read the announcements (you may have already)...but the stuff is hitting the proverbial fan...good agents, GM's and players are great to keep in touch with(and we would surely be interested in some of your guys) but those announcements just blew nearly all plans out of the water. Nearly everything is gonna have to be done on a "reactive" basis rather than according to a plan. Do you go uncapped and sign high level FA's? Do you go low capped and release your upper guys? Who really knows at this point?

Too bad it took Bort a whole season to realize promoting 13-cap expansions to uncapped leagues meant you either screw the agents by dumping them to recruit high levels, or screw the owners with a certain losing season. Oh well. Hope to see some of you all next season.

yah, because look how terrible these teams did up here. The teams I know were promoted from our league that didn't change their rosters at all, (us, Transformers and Molotov [Rochester added like one player]) all were over .500. It's not that big of a deal if you are built well and run well (we weren't even run well at all this season as mostly inactive). I don't know why everyone continues to whine about being promoted...

I personally wish they would quit screwing around with the game. We kept most of our team intact and had a perfectly fine season after being promoted. It was much better than I expected. I'm more upset with the ridiculous amounts of turnovers from this season. I agreed with people last season who thought there should be more, but I thought this season was ridiculous. Some tweaks here and there are fine, but major overhauls and long offseasons seem like they are becoming normal.

Well, tbh there is enough turnover in the A leagues that a 13 capped team can be promoted and do just fine. It is when this 13 capped team gets promoted, does well enough to get promoted again, and finds itself in AA with half of a stadium, a level 30 median level, and playing teams with level 50+ players in their third season where it becomes a problem.

Even though there are teams that will fall through the cracks in this system in the short term, including a few from this league, I think the new system will be better in the long term.

Yep
as far as promotion goes, something has to be done to address the stadium disparity as well as the level differences

Pretty much, whoever in this league gets promoted to AA, and that includes the champions, is going to have perhaps the toughest competition curve in all of GLB next season, and for seasons after that as well probably. This new system is kind of going to make the promotion this season be kind of like being thrown into a fire pit and than having a steel door slammed shut behind you sealing off your escape. Bort is removing many of the options teams once had as far as getting out of situations like this, so once your in AA in the "big leagues" you are basically stuck there.

I thought the same thing being promoted last season. But my low leveled team (compared to the rest of the league) proved to be a HUGE force. Afterall we finished 2nd in Alpha in "AA" I also will add that the Bruins and Mafia did good as well. It's all about builds and planning up here. And I know there are enough slow-build teams, and very solid "A" league teams that can compete in "AA" if they gamplan well. Now you wanns talk about a curve my avg player level 45 team will be heading into "AAA" ball next season. Now thats an assbeating waiting to happen.

On a side note I know the new league structure may suck, but come soon PRO and AAA teams will be dropping like flies when their players all decline. AND if they bring in farm teams they will suck hence getting demoted thus allowing lower level teams to climb the ladder. This is just a small bump in the road, but necessary to try and balance things out. I agree things should have been planned better league structure wise.

My suggestion is to shut down an entire league combine them and then take the shut down league and restart it. So for example: take USA and Canada and Africa, NO ONE in either league gets promoted then you take all the PROS combine them into the top 32 each in USA and Canada, and do the same down the line. Thus leaving Africa open for a fresh start. All new BBB, A, etc.... except that Africa A and above would be open no teams. And Africa BBB would be all new level 13 capped teams. Also all the sold/gutted teams in USA and Canada would be pulled from there thus making USA and Canada very strong leagues.

I hope yall understand what Im saying.

Yes, but your low level team (compared to the rest of the league) belongs in AA. A couple of the teams that are in line to be promoted out of this league were 13 capped last season.

The two teams that play in the championship game will be fine. They'll be able to hang I think. It is the ones below them on the promotion list that are in big trouble. Michigan will likely get promoted to AA, and they have a median level of 29. Mapua is going to fall apart it looks like, but if the planets align just right they'll move up too, and they have a median level of 29 as well. Meanwhile, the 8-8 8th seeded teams in EEAA4 have 46 and 47 median levels.

Any way you want to look at it, the season 8 13 capped teams are going to get screwed in this deal.

very true on those former capped teams my friend! And yes we did belong in AA, now more than likely we will be bumped up to AAA!
