Congratulations everyone who made the playoffs. Everyone in has a winning record. No GoTW in this format, as they are all equally important.
#1 Furious George v #8 Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples
Da NOLA draws the short stick and gets the 200lb gorillas round 1. The first game between these two went to Furious with a 108-7 decision (actually pretty close for a Furious game). Daydream had over 500 return yards and 5 TDs in that one and despite the lack of need to put the offense on the field, Furious still won the yardage battle 633-193. Barring something miraculous, Da NOLA is in trouble. Furious 125, Da NOLA 13.
#2 Montana Grizzlies v #7 Manhattan Massacre
Two old rivals square off once again, having played since season 3. Montana rolled up the Massacre first time out 54-7, as Montana was able to run pretty much all day as they like to do. When a team can put up that many rushing yards against a team that knows they will run, it is a bad sign for Manhattan. Montana 56, Manhattan 17.
#3 Atlanta Wolves v #6 Martha's Vineyard Ballbusters
This might be the most intriguing first round of the game if MV does their homework and comes out prepared, which they have apparently not done much of this season. MV has the levels but they got punked in the first game 59-16 in a game that really was that lopsided. Atlanta was able to pass early and run all game, so which hole do they plug? Atlanta 42, Martha's Vineyard 21.
#4 Maine Hawks v #5 Pittsburgh Powerhouse
The 4-5 game usually has the greatest upset chances and it is probably no different here, even though the top 4 teams seem clearly separated from the rest of the East. Maine's offense has been the least impressive of the "big 4", but the D might be the best of the group. In the first game, Maine won handily, 45-10 with a decisive yardage advantage. Turnovers were fairly even in the first game, so if Pitt wants to win they need a decided advantage in the turnover category. Maine 42, Pittsburgh 31.
Good luck everyone!
