The Matadors players contracts will be expiring this season and we have had a good run and lots of fun. Unfortunately we are calling it quits since the team will be losing over 2/3 of its players and it would be too hard to recruit 29 high level players for next season. We are going to be asked to be demoted down to a capped 13 league and start all over since finances will not allow us to be competitive in the higher leagues. 55 mil is just way too much money for the Matadors to come up with for the equipment upgrades it would need next season plus the salary of the players. We would like to thanks all of the teams here for a great camaraderie and we hope to be back here as soon as we can.

Before you do all of that you might want to wait till Bort announces his new league structure

It doesnt matter I am losing way too many players to try and recruit new ones to replace them.

Highly doubtful.

If anything they would be going to much tighter caps.

Bear is right, this is a recruiter's game. Strategists can make waves for a while, but eventually they are overwhelmed by guys who can load the roster beyond assail. I am rethinking my team's position as well, and if we do not manage promotion, I will be folding up tents entirely. For those of us who find recruiting difficult and distasteful, the rumored new league structure means even more seasons of grinding it out on the hamster wheel against roster juggernauts. I have tried my season of that, and it frankly is too much work for one person, even if modestly successful.

I'm sure the transition to the new league structure will be smooth like every other change Bort implements.

I am not even sure what will become of Blackpool at this point. A few people want to keep it together. A few want to bail out. A few don't care. And a few of us are ready to use it as a place to slowbuild a future team.

It was offered up by the owner (who is a friend of mine IRL) to sell it to one of our GMs a week or so ago. We never heard anything back. If something isn't done very soon, it will become a training area.
