Alright...VGW and MIghty cruise into the playoffs

1) Mighty
2) VGW

Now it gets interesting. If Ok City beats LB, then OK city gets #3. and then Sag. gets the 4 if they win thier finale (Bakersfield would be the #4 if Sag loses). If LB wins, then you have 3, possibly 4 teams (if Saginaw takes care of the Inferno) tied at 12-4. Lets examine the 4 way tie scenario...

In that case, LB and Ok City are 2-1 amongst tied teams, while Bakersfield and Saginaw are 1-2. It reverts to a two way tie between LB and Ok City, and LB gets the #3 seed by beating Ok. City head to head, and Ok City takes the #4

If LB wins and Sag loses, the you have a 3 way tie between Bakersfield, LB, and Ok City. All teams are 1-1 amongst tied teams, and it will come down to total points, with either Bakersfield and Ok City taking the #3 and #4. (LBs total points are too low).

DO I have this figured out right?

I actually believe it would be:

LB and Sag wins:
LB and OK are tied with 2-1. The #3 and #4 would then be settled by total points
Sag and Baker would get #5 and #6 based on total points

the other you have right

maybe...I asked this very question on the main GLB forum and the only responder seemed to think the two 2-1 teams would revert back to the first two team tiebreak, which is head to head...Still, we'd have to beat Ok City to even be in the discussion, and thats going to be a tall task for sure....

But yeah...I'd like to know ahead of time how it would officially play out...anybody else got a take?

total points would be the tie breaker

That's my understanding. If OKC wins their next game they will be the 3rd seed and if they lose they will be the 4th seed because of the head to head wins over Sag and Bakersfield ...but who knows for sure until?

but in that scenario, LB has the same record and head to head wins over OK City and Saginaw....

Total points amongst all 4 tied teams, or total points amongst the two that come out on top of step 1?

It does kind of remind me of that, and I'm afraid we'll be Texas Tech. I think its pretty much moot though. I've been scouting Ok City, and they look pretty damn tough. I don't think we can beat them, even if we catch a million breaks. Where did they come from and who invited them anyway?

It goes overall record, if tied all teams involved will be either included or eliminated based on H2H between tied teams. After that it goes to seasonal points scored, then points against, blah, blah.

I believe there is a clear and concise explanation on the wiki page.

Eh...I don't think it is as clear and concise as you might think....it has the 2 team tiebreak...makes sense. Then it has the multiple team tiebreak, but fails to answer the question. It goes like this:

1) record amongst the tied teams
2) total points scored
3) total points allowed.

It does not clarify it any more than that. Basically, in the 4 team sceario as I described above, step 1) doesn't solve anything, as 2 of the teams would be 2-1, and 2 of the teams would be 1-2. So my question is, are the two 1-2 teams then eliminated based on setp 1, or do all 4 teams go on to step 2? It just doesn't say. Then, if you're saying that step 1 does eliminate the 1-2 teams, then you have 2 teams left. Seems reasonable to think you would then go up to the 2 team tiebreak rule. I think either option that recognizes the 2-1 teams is fair, but it should be spelled out, IMO....

I know this is not the NFL but they go down the list until one team is singled out and then return to the top of the list again with the remaining teams.

So I am not sure if two were tied at 2-1 and two were tied at 1-2 that it would separate them but rather drop to the next tie-breaker until it found one that chose one single team.

Granted, if that single team were one of the 2-1 teams, the other would obviously be chosen for the next pass through the tie breakers as the only 2-1 team -- unless one of their wins were against the team that had been taken out of the equation -- in which case it would be possible for all three to then be 1-1 against each other.

Now I have probably confused everyone - -including myself.

The simple solution in the GLB world is just to out-score everyone.
