Most of the time its 4 teams 2 from each conf. but if there are computer owned teams then they will move up more

yeah,i know what you mean...if we get lucky and get to the third round,,my team will be a lvl 28 team,,,i would be still be able to be placed in a cap league...looking to sign high lvl players is a bitch..

I think that is one of the flaws in GLB that Bort is slowly addressing. Teams and owners struggle to keep active agents season after season due to numerous reasons. I once was on a winning team that was promoted up twice. I boosted each season 3 times as requested by the owner. However after the team ended up in a league where we were drastically out leveled, the owner was forced to bring in higher agents. The team pretty much looked like a gut job and many good agents were very unhappy.
Hopefully Bort continues with the level cap Idea and allows owners to select accordingly. I think it encourages players to remain on teams longer. Those of us who have recruited know how stressful it can be. If winning championships causes teams to break apart just to remain competitive, then obviously there is an issue that needs to be addressed. I have no quarrels with being promoted or the idea behind promotion. However, we all have witnessed how competitive GLB can truly be if given a level playing field. I think the level cap allows GLB to be played the way it was meant to be played.

The team I own went through this in season 5. We went from a level 21 cap at the end of season 4 to uncapped to start season 5. First thing 4 teams in our league did is went out and got level 40's and stomped the shit out of the rest of us who still had mostly level 22's. Then the next season 4 more teams gutted and got high level 40s and stomped the shit out of us who had level 30's. Then the next season 3 more teams did it and got level 50's and stomped the shit out of us when we had 38's. It took me 5 seasons (keeping all the players that wanted to stay with us) to catch up and finally get moved up a league.
Now in AA in the second round we're facing a team thats lowest level player is 55 and we still have level 37's as backups. We did manage to pick up a few higher level players while replacing the ones that wished to leave though. Most of our team thats been with us since we were created in season 4 range from 37-45 (some dont boost).
We've been lucky though. Last season (when we got moved to AA) was the first time in team history without a winning record (7-9) and first time in team history missing the playoffs. Although we always lost in the first round except season 7 when we got moved up. And this season I guess.
Theres supposed to be a "penalty" for having higher players than whats suggested for the league. Like diminished vxp or something. But even still, its ridiculous. our league "suggested level of players" is level 33-57. How retarded is that? They suggest a 24 level swing. /ghey
I'm all in favor of capped leagues all the way to the pro's. Both minimum and maximum levels. IMO even if you win your league, if your team isnt high enough level to play in the next league then ya dont get promoted. I think at most there should be a 5 level difference for each league. I know that may sound unreasonable due to the number of teams, but I think its doable with a lot of work. Think of how much more fun this game will be if you never have to worry about getting beat simply because some jackass went out and dumped all of his players in favor of players 20 levels higher than you. Think of how great the competition would be.
