Alpha Rundown
The dust has settled from the madness that was last week and Barcelona comes out as the only undefeated team remaining with a tough win over formerly undefeated Sin City. Also falling was the previously unbeaten Livorno Naval Academy, losing to the hands of the Irish Car-Bombers. The Livorno loss brings a lot of possiblities for the #3 seed, as they've had the benefit of a fairly easy schedule so far. Another loss or two for Livorno wouldn't surprise anyone I'm sure, especially since they still have to face the seemingly more dominant teams with the likes of Sin City and Barcelona. We'll see if the Car-Bombers, or perhaps the Gauls, give Livorno a run for their money. All that aside, Barcelona has yet another tough game on the docket as the go up against the 9-2 Gauls, who are looking for a major upset. It's predicted to be a close game in Barcelona's favor, but an upset is certainly possible as we've seen in the past. Compartively, Livorno and Sin City have easy rebound games to get back on the right track as they go up against Hamburg and Dearborn, respectively. The Glasgow Aftershocks will certainly be pulling for a Barcelona victory, as a Verviers loss and a win against the lowly Canary Cannis puts Glasgow in a tie for the 5th spot.

Meanwhile, the Moscow Communists are looking more like pretenders every week that passes, falling to the surging Monaco Mustangs last week. The loss certainly opens things up for Monaco, and even the Hawks sitting at the 9th spot, and Moscow will have to play top-notch football for the remainder of the season to make the playoffs. Luckily for them, the have a bit of a respite as they go against the Gonadian Knights, a game they are projected to easily win. Monaco can keep pace with them so long as they dispatch of the Watford Cheetahs, and they are predicted to do just that.

Zeta Rundown
Unlike over in Alpha, the unbeaten teams in Zeta won both their matches last week and are predicted to do so again this week. Algarve has a bit of a tough opponent against the Missouri Quicksand, winners of eight in a row, but are projected to beat them with their elite defense carrying them to victory yet again. Can Missouri figure out the best D in Zeta? That will be the crucial decider of this match. Normandy should have a lot less troubles putting away the Kickback Cavaliers. Right below them, the Salt Lake City Utah play in a laugher against the winless Baltimore Knights. A Utah win and a Quicksand loss will leave SLC in sole possession of the #3 seed.

Although there isn't much potential for movement at the top of Zeta this week, there is certainly a lot of potential for it in the middle and end of the playoff pack. In what is perhaps the Zeta game of the week, the Matterhorn Marmots go up against the Cybertron War Machine with a lot on the line, for the present and the future. The prediction indicates a relatively close victory for the red-hot Cybertron War Machine, winners of their last 5 after a slow start. A Cybertron win coupled with a Kickback loss would put them in a tie for the 7th seed. Antelope Valley would also benefit from a Kickback and Matterhorn loss, as they have potential to grab hold of a piece of the 5th seed with a win against the Middlesbrough Mayhem. The prediction is highly in their favor unsurprisingly, as the Mayhem are struggling this year. Edinburgh looks to get their head back in the playoff picture as they have an easy match-up against the Warriors. The Highlanders still have a shot at the playoffs, and the Kickback Cavaliers is the team to be watching to slip.

*A Look to the Future is basically taking next week's results to update the records, then seeding the playoff teams from there. I didn't use QoP or SoR though for tie-breakers, I was making the seedings based on match-up tie breakers (i.e., Team A beats Team B in the beginning of the season and now they have the same record, Team A gets the edge since they beat Team B earlier). And any team unlisted is either already eliminated or has very little chance to get in. Hope that all makes sense.

So that's all for now everyone. It's getting a little longer every week it seems haha. Good luck to all teams this week, should be interesting to see how it all unfolds. We're entering the home stretch now for the season, and it always heats up this time of the year!

EDIT:
Tonight's scores have been updated... The projector had a much better week, getting all 16 games right and having being more consistent with win margins this time around (although still a little shaky). Next week's post will be up late tonight or tomorrow depending on how the down time affects the forums. Congrats to all winning teams!

Meh. First season the sharks existed, we were considered the worst team in the league, and they expected us to go 0-16. We went 5-11.
Second season, we were given the prediction that we could win 3 games. We went 7-9 and nearly made the playoffs, having lost against teams 7 levels higher in average for less than 1 TD, including a 56 yard field goal 18 seconds from the end.
Now, even you soundwave said that "if we had more depth we would be a force to reckon with" and we're so far undefeated.

We're used to being underestimated. We will continue to outdo the predictions -_- *grumble*

I had a question but didnt want to post it before the game. How did your computer have Matterhorn Marmots as the fifth team, and CWM as the 8th yet pick CWM to win?

Yeah, I was guessing we would win, but I am human and can use judgement. The numbers should have had Matterhorn Marmots winning. The fact that it didn't is a little cooky.

Could you please explain this?

^ My guess is that it uses some sort of comparison of how well we each played against similar opponents. Also it probably takes into account strength of schedule and you have played tougher opponents to date that we have.

Yeah cosine is more or less exactly right. Teams that have played fairly easy teams the majority of the beginning of the season would most likely have a better record than a team playing all the elite teams in the beginning, even if the latter team is a little better overall. And like I said in another post, I just use standings as a base to keep it simpler and to keep my judgement out of it. Hope these past two posts have helped

Just letting everyone know that Week 13 will be up a little later tonight. The down time last night kind of screwed things up for me, and I've been out all day. Thanks for the patience
