Which is better?

I'd think

1)CB for return specialist and natural gains on spd/agi/vis
2)HB for natural gains on spd/agi/vis AND carrying
3)WR for natural gains on spd/agi/vis

Right?

the big thing now, with the release of VAs. There are boosts to the firing of juke and headfake which only HB and WR have. A HB or WR with Return Specialist is quite ideal now.

but i think the HB has the best SA's for the Return position, including the cover up and dive for yardage SA's, and the juke being closer on the tree than spin. If u can get a return specialist SA EQ then watch out. lol that makes me kinda want to retire some players and make a HB return guy :O

unless you get juke/spin etc. AEQ for a CB.


A CB can be the best if he is built to be a return man. A HB is best if you are using someone who also plays his position.

FBs if built correctly can be nasty return men as well, but it takes patience and a lot of speed training and sp storage. However, the natural gains to strength, agility, and carrying are nice.

IMO, HB.

HB + Quick Feet + Special Teamer + Return Man =

+60% juke/spin/headfake
+60% vision
+15% all other attributes
+30% to hold on to the ball

True, CBs get Return Spec, but you can't really quanitfy the gains. Plus, they do not get a natural cover up and they have to spend on carrying, which takes away from their defensive abilities. I would rather my CBs spend those points on something that makes them better at their primary job than something to help on special teams. everything useful for KR/PR is a useful stat for elusive HBs. the only non-critical investments you have to make is on VAs. big deal.

not to mention the complete lack of natural juke/spin/headfake which nerfs return man for CBs.

If you want a CB to be a return man, then he needs to be built as a return man. That is his primary job.


That is the rub. a HB has to make less compromises to be a good KR/PR. a CB has to take carrying and go into the speedster tree for return spec in addition to investing in VAs. A HB only has to get the VAs since everything else is part of a standard build.

not that important but more useful than anything on the possession WR tree or blitz or closing speed for CB for the purpose of returning kicks imo

If you are building player correctly, you only have so many sp to spend on SAs. First step, Change of Direction, and Return Specialist can more than eat up all of those. In fact, you would have to get to high 40's/low 50's before getting all 3 of those to 7 with CE.
