Season 9: Week 5

The only real change this week is that the Reading Armed Centaurs vaulted up to the 10th position based on their impressive win over The Arlington Sandlot.

This weeks rankings:

1. (1) October Wildfire
2. (2) Luxembourg Lightning Bolts
3. (3) Red River Ruminants
4. (4) Whitechapel Rippers
5. (5) London Olympians
6. (6) Glasgow Cats
7. (7) Flint Hobo
8. (8) Mile High Hitmen
9 (9) Leipzig Lions
10. (13) Reading Armed Centaurs
11. (10) Barcelona Bisons
12. (11) Arlington Sandlot
13. (12) Honolulu Wave Riders
14. (14) Rome Ramblin' Thornites
15. (15) Russian Strelets
16. (16) St. George Javalinas

This weeks games:

1. (1) October Wildfire vs. (15) Russian Strelets
The Wildfire has been running wild so far this season and I don't see a firebreak in the Russian Strelets. Look for yet another blow out win.

October Wildfire 112 : Russian Strelets 10

2. (2) Luxembourg Lightning Bolts vs. (12) Arlington Sandlot
Luxembourg has yet to be challenged by a soft early schedule. They won't be challenged this week either. They will cruse past the Sandlot on there way to their first real game against London next week.

Luxembourg Lightning Bolts 62 : Arlington Sandlot 10

3. (3) Red River Ruminants vs. (11) Barcelona Bisons
RRR gets to rack up another win against a Bison team that has struggled to find an identity this season. RRR doesn't care, they just want another win.

Red River Ruminants 75: Barcelona Bisons 3

4. (4) Whitechapel Rippers vs. (6) Glasgow Cats **** Game of the Week ****
This is the game of the week in name only. Whitechapel is just on another level than the mid level teams, of which Glasgow certainly is.

Whitechapel Rippers 65 : Glasgow Cats 14

5. (5) London Olympians vs. (10) Reading Armed Centaurs
The Armed Centaurs picked up their 2nd win last week, and are going to pick up their 3rd loss this week. London, is clearly the best of the mid level teams, or possibly the worst of the top teams. Either way they are clearly the better team.

London Olympians 65 : Reading Armed Centaurs 14

6. (7) Flint Hobo vs. (14) Rome Ramblin' Thornites
Flint is quietly racking up the wins against the lower and mid level teams. They just show up, get the job done, then go back home. Of course if you have ever been to Flint Michigan, you would know that there isn't too much home to go back to. Which is why the Hobo's love road games.

Flint Hobo 65 : Rome Ramblin' Thornites 10

7. (8) Mile High Hitmen vs. (9) Leipzig Lions
This is the real game of the week as these two teams are fighting to stay in contention for a playoff spot. Both teams lost to the Flint Hobo in the last 2 weeks, but the Hitmen did better on defense, and I like defense. I give them the edge in this game.

Mile High Hitmen 26 : Leipzig Lions 24

8. (13) Honolulu Wave Riders vs. (16) St. George Javalinas
The Wave Riders are due for a win, and they will get it against the hapless Javalinas. There will be a party in Hawaii tonight! Oh wait, there is a party in Hawaii every night!. Seriously dudes, lay off the pineapple.

Honolulu Wave Riders 32 : St. George Javalinas 6

Good Luck Everyone!

goooo Western European 808 state! last two opponents for Luxembourg have been held touchdownless. I look for that to continue with the Sandbox.

Will be nice to see what Whitechapel is really made of (and thus RRR)

We are just a team striving to get into the playoffs like everyone else. If we play as a team, work hard and find a little luck along the way maybe we can make something happen.

Good work Cryptotich!

the fact that we're all guessing about other teams is pretty cool. i'm sure we'll have a good game, still have to play week 4 though.

You'll note that Crypt does a post week recap. As the season goes one he gets eerily accurate. Like within a few points either way. You'll see. He's like a sports betting handicapper or something.

Sandbox scored 1 TD on Luxembourg... but only because our return man kept returning it for a td so the defense hardly got to rest
