The Alpha predictions will be posted seperately. LRats got busy and wasn't able to add them yet. I also apologize for the top 10. It is the top 9 in no particular order today. I was really short on time for this one. Will try to get it straight for the next edition.

Game of the Week Recap
By: MaxxMisery

Graz Grizzlies at E-City Mercenaries

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=475810

LRats predicted this to be the Game of the Week, and this game did not disappoint.

E-City was able to draw first blood in this one, after a nice drive down the field led to a 42 yard blast by Barry Ortiz to take the early lead.

E-City 3-0

Graz receives the kickoff, and they proceed to march down the field on a beautiful drive led by QB Matt Man and HB KANAN KRESGE. After chipping their way all the back into the red zone, HB Bio-Tech takes the handoff on just plows his way into the end zone for his first TD of the season. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5793830

Graz 7-3

E-City answered the call once again by marching down the field, highlighted by a nice throw from Disa Throw to Mario Bailey for a 20 yard gain. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5794152 They managed to drive it down to the 7 yard line, but just couldn't punch it into the end zone. Ortiz comes out again for the short FG to reduce the lead to 1 point.

Graz 7-6

Graz received the kickoff and had a good drive down the field, managing to bring it all the way down to the 6 yard line, when E-City's DE Holger Forcedfumble lived up to his name and knocked the ball loose from KRESGE. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5795382 After Oronzo Pravetti recovered the ball, E-City almost quickly lost it again on a fumble of their own that they were able to recover to keep the drive alive, but they were still forced to punt after Graz was able to shut them down. After receiving the punt, the Grizzlies were able to burn the final 4 minutes of the half and kick a FG near halftime to extend the lead to 4 points.

Halftime Score: Graz 10 E-City 6

Halftime Analysis

This game seemed like it would be a close one, and at the half only 4 points separated these two. Could the Mercenaries get into the end-zone and put up TD's instead of FG's? Could Graz extend the lead and extend the streak?

The 3rd quarter kicked off with a beautiful return for Jerome Quinn of the Grizzlies, returning the kick for 66 yards and setting them up for a quick score. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5796921 but after getting stopped on the goal line, they had to rely on kicker Gianni Verschueren to add 3 points the easy way.

Graz 13-6

The Mercenaries were not ready to give up yet, and proceeded to answer the FG with a long drive of nice short yardage gains until they were finally able to connect on a TD pass from Throw to Argyle McCullough to tie the game up! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5797854

Tied 13-13

Graz was able to march right back down the field to put up a TD of their own, trying to break the will of the Mercenaries. The drive was highlighted by a nice pass from Matt Man to McFly for a 23 yard gain http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5798180 which eventually led to an 8 yard pitch to KRESGE to take the lead back and go back up by a TD. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5798575

Graz 20-13

E-City once again did not back down and buckle under the pressure of being down, and was able to move the ball down the field once again. The drive was highlighted by a pitch to Mayrun Mayscore http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5799016 for a 21 yard gain, which would lead to a TD pass from Throw to Longwanger and tie the game yet again! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5799315

Tied 20-20

After holding Graz to a 3 and out, It looked like the Mercenaries would finally be able to take the lead in this one after driving down the field only to have Deion Smith grab a timely interception and take it all the way back to the house for an 81 yard touchdown!! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5800321

Graz 27-20

E-City, knowing that time was running out had to jump into the 2-minute offense and with a sense of urgency put together a wonderful drive with the two-headed monster at QB Thor Jarlsson and Disa Throw leading the way. After getting down the field, the Mercenaries were able to capitalize on a TD pass to Bangbros Owens with :22 left to tie this thing up and send it into overtime! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=475810&pbp_id=5801215

Tied 27-27

In overtime, both defenses manned up and just took turns shutting each other down. E-City stepped up big time with two forced fumbles, but could not take advantage of either of them to score the winning points. Back and forth punishment until the clock finally ran out in overtime, giving us a tie.

FINAL SCORE: GRAZ 27, E-CITY 27

I know that we all hate a tie, but this was a great game that was fun to watch from beginning to end.

Players of the Game

Graz Grizzlies - CB Deion Smith - His awesome INT for a TD gave the Grizzlies a late lead and looked to seal the game up with such a morale killing pick.

E-City Mercenaries - WR Bangbros Owens - Did not have the biggest numbers in the game by far, but he caught the clutch TD to tie this game up right at the end of regulation.

WEPL Power Rankings
By: Miladmaaan

One Liners

-E-City and Graz tied.. Hereby ending Graz' "winning" streak. Their non-losing streak however continues! Great game btw.
-Good thing BFM wasn't in AAA last year.
-Despite the 1-2 record, the Black Knights aren't messing around this season.
-Unlike the other AAA teams, Inverness seems to be having trouble adjusting to the pros.
-The week that I don't predict them to win, the Lyon Dynasty reaffirm my thoughts that they are a legit team.
-Tiffany drops to zero and three. Could this be the first 0-3 team averaging more than 40 points a game in the history of the sport? Possibly. The Divots join them in their endless pit of doom.
-Cardiff edged out Normandy in a HUGE shootout.
-Count the Philharmonic out of the playoffs. Sorry guys but that was pretty gross. 8 interceptions?
-I only got 2 and a half wrong this time! And 6 right! Almost back to .500

Interview with California Quakes owner of the Normandy Invasion
By: Jayadamo

1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Well I am in my early 40s and live in San Diego, were I teach International Business at a University. My brother Chris ( maitey) and best friend Kevin(Skullrusher) are the GM's. I love football (San Diego Chargers)and started playing GLB after the first season. My brother Chris convinced me to start playing this game called GLB and the rest is history. On a personal note I like to travel, cook, read and just relax with GLB(RELAX WITH GLB WHO ARE YOU KIDDING) haha..

2. In what season did you purchase your team and how did you decide on the name?

I purchased the Team in Season 3. When the league first started there was only Single A-AA-AAA-Pros. I was able to purchase a single A Team with the name Madrid Ninjas. My brother, Kevin and I started to think about Team names. We almost came up with the Niece Guys,haha..Could you see our Team page with a bunch of guys in tuxedos smiling. So as we were throwing out names I thought of Normandy, it was unique and nobody else at the time had that name. Kevin(Skullrusher) said " What about Invasion," so we both thought about it and that's how the name was born.

3. You finally picked up a gold trophy last season by beating the pants off of some scrub team from Hattgenstein in AAA2. Was it worth the wait?

Yes it was, but it wasn't easy. After our second season in AAA we lost to the West Wales Warriors in the 2nd round of playoffs. We almost threw in the towel, I think we were getting a little tired. However, we decided to give it another try. So the next season there were so many excellent teams in AAA, we just thought oh boy this is going to be very tough. GLB is an exciting game, it test your patience, intelligence and determination to advance and win the gold trophy. Beating Hattgenstien was a great win, but to be honest when we won the Conference Championship beating TIlburg Lightening that was probably one of our greatest wins. We knew then we were going Pro and receiving a trophy.

4. What do you think your chances of winning another Championship this season are?

Well right now it just a wait and see approach. This is what everyone shoots for, to play with the big boys in the Pros . All the Owners and GM's in Western Europe are some of the best in GLB. Our goal is to always make the playoffs and win the Championship. I think our chances are as good as everyone else.

5. If you had to pick a team to win the championship other than your own, who would it be?

I would go with the Graz Grizzlies at this time. They are the Western European Champions and until someone knocks them out, they are the Champions.

6. What do you think of the level of competition here in WEPL?

I think it one of the toughest leagues in GLB. I would tell anyone go play in AAA or the Pros for a season or two and then get back to me.

7. Do you see any of your fellow newly promoted AAA buddies causing some problems for the veteran Pro teams this season?

Haha...Everyone in the Pros is good. Cardiff Bluebirds promoted last season always seem to give us fits, but I am optimistic that we will beat them, sorry Welsh!! Again, everyone in the Pros is good. Its anyone's trophy.

8. What do you think of this season’s sim so far?

I know Bort is doing his best. I stated playing GLB season 2 and the game has progressed nicely.I am optimistic that Bort will iron out the glitches in the game. This season I am happy with the sim.

9. If Bort was to add something new to the game what would you want it to be?

Well I kinda liked the idea of modifying your Stadium to your own personal taste. Also, I always wanted to see the retired players trophies, so we can pay tribute to past players. Other than that I am pretty happy with things.

10. Is there anything else you would like to say?

Our team is just happy to have the opportunity to play in one of the best leagues in GLB, The Western Europe Division and we look forward to competing with alot of great teams.

Thank you for your time and good luck to the Invasion the rest of the way. Unless of course by some miracle they meet that Hattgenstein team again for the Championship then I have to say worst of luck in that one.

The next issue isn't going to be too great. I don't have much time right now so if someone on the interview list could answer the questions I sent Quakes and send it to me I would appreciate it. If one of the questions doesn't fit you then feel free to make one up.

I only get to see my family every other weekend due to work and this is one of the weekends.
