GAME OF THE WEEK

Furious George v Atlanta Wolves
The last GoTW really lived up to expectations and hopefully this one as well. Two 3-0 teams collide. Atlanta is a very well managed and strong team, while Furious George has looked nigh unstoppable so far. This will be the first test for each of them. Talent-wise the two squads match up for well, although I do like the Furious front 7 a bit better than Atlanta's. On the other hand Atlanta's o-line is better, which evens things out. Coin toss here, but the Wolves hate when I pick them to win. Furious 35, Atlanta 28.

OTHER GAMES

Vice City Mambas v Martha's Vineyard Ballbusters
This has the potential to be another very entertaining game. VC is undefeated and MV's only loss is to Maine. Last season VC as a middle of the pack team in A but they have really taken that next step forward. MV's status in A is not quite known yet but they are at a minimum a top 6 team. Another fairly even talent matchup, but I am a big fan of VC's WR corps. Vice City 38, Martha's Vineyard 24.

Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples v Buffalo Beasts
Two teams traveling different directions as Da NOLA had a miserable season last time but are off to a great start now that their levels have caught up a bit. Buffalo was the feel good story of last season but is off to a rough start once again. I am a little intrigued by this one as it will be the very test of build versus level of the season. Buffalo has big level advances but Da NOLA has the slow build thing going for them. Buffalo 24, Da NOLA 21.

Maine Hawks v Detroit Outlaws
Maine is on cloud 9 after very nice wins over MV and Montana. Detroit beat up Bowdoin's superior levels last time with good builds. Maine is a much taller mountain to climb. Maine 51, Detroit 20.

Pittsburgh Powerhouse v New Orleans Poison
Pittsburgh got off to a nice 2-0 start before getting ass-pounded by Furious. Fortunately they get the rebuilding Poison in time to recover. Pittsburgh 150, New Orleans 0.

Manhattan Massacre v Welsh Dragons
I find this game interesting. Manhattan is 2-1, with victories over some pretty bad teams while Welsh has been beaten by some good teams. Welsh does have a bit of a talent advantage but their morale may be affected at this point and that advantage is very slight. Manhattan will certainly have more VAs to work with. Manhattan 24, Welsh 17.

Montana Grizzlies v Detroit Diablos
Montana was bitten early by the curse of #1 against Maine while Detroit received corporal punished at the hands of MV. Detroit is scrappy with good management but Montana just has way too much for them at this point. Montana 45, Detroit 17.

Bowdoin Polar Bears v Houghton Gremlins
Bowdoin gets to have some revenge for beatings of seasons past against the now-CPU Gremlins. Bowdoin 110, Houghton 0.

Thanks Texan, I really appreciate your write-ups. I have to say that this has made the forums quite enjoyable this season, so kudos to you. Its also obvious that you do more than just look at the scouting bars, and your picks are quite accurate.

Furious is very anxious about our game with Atlanta. They're a solid, solid club and we've yet to encounter them. I'm sure it will be a very entertaining game. Whoever wins the turnover battle gets the W.

Thanks again Texan. As Krunchy says, you've made the forum much more enjoyable.

Are there even Wolves in Atlanta? =p I'm from Toronto and I've never seen one this far south. Coyotes and Foxes, yes. And of course cougars when you hit the night scene. =p

Great write up as usual Tex. Looking forward to a competitive game against Furious George, hopefully it lives up to the game of the week status.

Awesome job as always Texan. The Outlaws will need a little more than inspiration against Maine though. Got any inside info?...lol

no not really and you have a magic return guy...
look at the scouting bars again and you will see you certainly have the advantage, along with higher levels, more VA pts, and a deeper roster. you guys will win...
