How are they able to change their username?

PMing an admin I believe is how most of them do it (or support) not really sure

...and why go thru the bother?

because you are trying to avoid a reputation, or because someone is trying to troll you by making a similar name... or because you picked just a random name when you signed up because you didn't think you'd like the game...

I can think of a number of reasons people would give but for me, I have no need for it, thus why I don't know exactly how to do it.
