GAME OF THE WEEK
Maine Hawks v Montana Grizzlies
Conspiracy, I picked Maine for GoTW twice in a row! Anyway, a contest of 2 teams at 2-0 that will both have a good shot at a home playoff game, regardless of this outcome. Last season Montana beat up the Hawks in convincing fashion. I think this will be a very close game but I like Montana to make a few more plays in the passing game. Montana 27, Maine 24.
OTHER GAMES
Furious George v Pittsburgh Powerhouse
Pittsburgh has said FU to my two previous picks and won where I thought they would lose. Furious has won where I thought they would win, how cooperative! I like what Pittsburgh has done with their game planning thus far in the season but I think Furious just has too much talent. Seriously this time! Furious 35, Pittsburgh 20.
Atlanta Wolves v Buffalo Beasts
A tale of two schedules so far as Atlanta has feasted on the weak and Buffalo has been beaten up. Atlanta is just a very good solid team and has better line play on both sides of the ball, which should decide it. Atlanta 31, Buffalo 14.
Vice City Mambas v Welsh Dragons
While I didn't pick this as the GoTW, it may well be the most interesting matchup. You know Welsh will recover at some point and make a playoff run while VC has played some pretty bad teams so far but looks good. I do think Welsh will have big problems trying to contain the VC passing game in this one, which is fierce. Vice City 38, Welsh 28.
Da NOLA Brah!!! K&B Purples v Houghton Gremlins
Da NOLA, this season's feel good story continues their early victory tour against a team that pasted them last season, but has now gone CPU. Da NOLA 255, Houghton 0.
Detroit Diablos v Martha's Vineyard Ballbusters
Another of the most interesting games this time around. Detroit to me is still that great unknown quantity where MV is definitely solid but has a tough loss to Maine last time. Detroit exocised some demons against Welsh. I think MV rebounds in this one with their o-line just mauling their way to victory. Martha's Vineyard 37, Detroit 21.
Manhattan Massacre v New Orleans Poison
I have had a good feeling about Manhattan for this season but they had an unexpected and heartbreaking loss to Pittsburgh last time out. New Orleans is rebuilding though and the Massacre get back on track. Manhattan 200, New Orleans 0.
Bowdoin Polar Bears v Detroit Outlaws
Both teams are a bit on the fringe and will have problems trying to make a run. Bowdoin does have a consistent history of beating who they are supposed to beat and they look a little better in this game. Bowdoin 24, Detroit 21.
