I know there has to be a better equation set-up for these power rankings as Esik Eagles should be ahead of Prague but according to my set-up, they're still below.

Overall record takes precedence.

Rank - Team - Record - Score
1. Birmingham Bolts (2-0): 1.75
2. Rome Colossus (2-0): 5
3. Izmir Immortals (2-0): 5.75
4. Tonganoxie Shockers (2-0): 6.25
5. Florida State Warheads (2-0): 6.5

6. Trojan Rubberman (1-1): 4.875
7. Auschwitz Rebellion (1-1): 5
T-8. Bialowieza Forest Wisents (1-1): 7
T-8. Bratislava Chaos (1-1): 7
10. The Blackwater All-Stars (1-1): 7.375
11. Prague Czechmates (1-1): 8.25
12. Coral Gables Hurricanes (1-1): 9
13. Esik Eagles (1-1): 9.25
14. Battle Creek Mayhem (1-1): 10
15. Ukraine Is Game To You (1-1): 11.5

16. Templar Knights (0-2): 12.625

Okay, here's how I'm calculating the rankings.

I use a point differential in the wins and losses.

So let's say Team A and Team B plays, Team wins by 10 points. Ten points are added to Team A's total point differential then Team B's 10 point is subtracted from their total points. Points among all teams are then ranked 1st - 16th with highest amount of points getting a 1st ranking.

Points: 1st

I then calculate W-L records, +1/-1. If a team has a record of 2-0 I give a rating of -2. If a team has a record of 0-2 I give a ranking of +2 and if a team has a record of 1-1 I give a rating of 0. After the next game, some teams will probably go 2-1, so they will get a rating of -1 while a 3-0 team will have a -3 and a 0-3 team will have a +3.

Points: 1st
Record: -2

I then calculate passing yards based upon Conference Team Stats (http://goallineblitz.com/game/team_stats.pl?league_id=135&conference_id=270).

Passing Yards
Rushing Yards
Pass Yards Allowed
Rush Yards Allowed
Offensive TD Scored
TDs Allowed

In this case, all offensive stats are rated most yards (1st) to least yards (16th). For Yards/TDs allowed it's rated least allowed (1st) and most allowed (16th). In the event of a tie, I count downwards to the next ranking. Let's say three teams are tied at 1st, the next team will get a ranking of 4th.

As an example:

Birmingham Bolts
Points: 273 (1st)
Record: -2
Pass Yards: 1st
Rush Yards: 2nd
Pass Yards Allowed: 9th
Rush Yards Allowed: 1st
TD: 31 (1st)
TD Allowed: (1st)

I will then add up all the ranks with the addition or subtraction based upon the record. So for Birmingham it would be 1-2+1+2+9+1+1+1 = 14 divided by 8 = 1.75

You outlevel most of the league, that should be a given?

But we always beat them. We should be above them!

Hey Baker, here's the numbers I have for the Warheads and Shockers.

Warheads
Points: 50 (11th)
W-L: -2
Passing Yards: 3rd
Rushing Yards: 4th
Rushing Yards Allowed: 14th
Passing Yards Allowed: 12th
TDs: 22 (4th)
TDs Allowed: 6 (6th)
Total Placement: 52
Average: 6.5

Shockers
Score: 67 (8th)
W-L: -2
Passing Yards: 11th
Rushing Yards: 7th
Rushing Yards Allowed: 10th
Passing Yards Allowed: 4th
TDs: 14 (8th)
TDs Allowed: 5 (4th)
Total Placement: 50
Average: 6.25

Personally I believe the math is much more accurate than the opinion of the rater. Think so?

I do believe there's something missing here but I haven't found a solution as of yet. I think as time goes on the records will start to even everything out.

Yes I agree. I guess I'll just be to wait for the game. But I like your ranking method. It's just in the past we have beat both teams every single time.

The math is more accurate if you have enough information. These will not be accurate until week 8 or so. No use getting worked up over them yet. It still interesting to see how these unfold every week.
