(San Juan) - The San Juan Cabelleros have had a stout defense and a pretty potent offense for the majority of the season. However, as with all teams they really were scouring the trade bait to see if there were any available players out there that could put them over the top.
Cabelleros management made a comment that you are always looking or depth at every position. Someone who can come in and contribute.
May 19th was the final day for trades to be made and that deadline has come and gone.
We spoke with the Media Director, BigCowboysFan, earlier today.
"Well, first of all, I am no way in charge of any personnel decisions except for my secretary that works in my office. However, I do know that the scouting department was sifting through the trading block and while they may have looked into a few players they ultimately decided that it would be best to keep the Cabelleros intact and continue with the team chemistry that is being build upon here. There is something special going on in that locker room and I'm glad to be a part of it. That doesn't mean that they may not look to add a free agent or two to help out with depth in a few positions, but there is definitely no need to add a starting quality player. This team is on the cusp of greatness and you don't fix something if it ain't broke."
With the passing of the trade deadline it shows that management and the owner have a great amount of confidence in their current team and that makes the entire team better when an owner is fully behind his players.
