Come on now! Tubby Smith should teach you that preseason matters just as much as the regular season!

He would also teach you not to recruit the best players and to play a slow, boring style. I will say this, while I'm not a fan of his style of ball or recruiting, he is a high character guy that should never get Minn. in trouble and is a great face for the university.

Ball line defense. Lived it for a decade. Agree on all counts.

Tubby to Minnesota was the best thing for both him and UK. UK gets back to a faster pace playing style, Minnesota gets a head coach who knows how to win, and has the hardware to prove it. Win-Win.

Tubby is great for Minnesota, and for the Big Ten as well. We've hopefully got the last few years of shame behind us in Bloomington, as Tom Crean is similar in character and coaching ability.

UK is back to doing what they do best. Calipari is a traditional Kentucky coach/recruiter.

Given my #1 game every season is UK/IU, I am glad to see Crean at IU. IU needs to restore the rivalry back to what it should. The game means way too much not to.

And as my four year old nephew calls him: caliparty Exciting years ahead. Rupp needs more drapes. The seven we have are starting to gather dust again.

You are a terrible owner if you don't know games are going.u should be setting tactics, maybe not scouting and trying to win, but trying to find your best tactics and plays in a new sim is usually a good idea.

How can you call his style boring btw? Pressing defense is not boring imo

And have you ever watched Big Ten BBall? You don't know what "boring basketball" is until you watch an Iowa-Wisconsin game.

lol

I dunno if "tactics changes" will erase a 150-3 beatdown.

But I'll give him some credit, he is Gopher fan.

OK, Tubby never pressed at UK except when he had Pitino's players. While at UK, Tubby's style was similar to a Iowa-Wisconsin game.

I agree with both of these, especially Rupp needing more drapes

Some of you younger fans who don't remember the game pre-shot clock would have died if you watched Indiana or North Carolina stall the clock out for 4-5 minutes on a single possession when they got a big lead late.

Egads, what a nightmare of a memory! Four corners hell. Plain and simple. Ask Cincinnati how that worked out for them when they pulled that crap at Rupp. There's a reason they aren't on our schedule anymore.

I watch Big Ten ball regularly, and Tubby's style fits it perfectly. I am hoping Crean will open the floodgates a bit more in Bloomington, like he did at Marquette. And don't get me wrong. I may respect IU, but I despise them nonetheless. That's what rivalries are for.
