Short version –
We are a successful team looking to improve. Have a few needs and will consider upgrades in other spots and maybe a couple of guys as special teams only for development – this is a new idea for us.
Looking for 48+, slightly lower if build is right and booster
Laid back style, serious about winning. Looking for team concept, have been fortunate and are continuing to build on a solid foundation. A complete overview (at least I hope it is) is below.

Management/Philosophy:
Purchased 6 years right out of the gate and extended. In it for the long haul, no bailing and CPU takeover
Have had 2 GMs through the six seasons, original one for 5. Current GM role was expected to be a light-duty thing, and he’s done a lot of good stuff, especially in beating the bushes in recruiting. Always looking for experienced guys who might want to be more active.
VERY interested in getting at least one coordinator in place.
I will NOT have honorary GM roles. If there is a need to have a trophy case for agents, then Bort needs to program for it – link to a retired players page with a trading card view – stats and trophies for each. (there, post that on the suggestions page).
GENERAL PHILOSOPHY
Overall
This is a game. We play to win, but keep it under control. Be as active as you like. We were able to get more activity in the forum in season 7 and still more in 8, but can always use more. We are also looking for guys interested in taking a specific role as coordinator/scout/etc. Want guys who get the team concept, want to help everyone get better together.
Playing Time
Best guys start, all play and want to max XP. Want to keep all developing together so we have no drop off in depth. Can be a difference maker.
No BS, crazy promises, politics. My guys sit in the backseat if it’s best for the team, want other guys to take the same approach. Snaps will be there and if not, we get it right as soon as we can.
Owner/player relations
Just a nice way to say “what happens if something goes wrong?” I had a couple of bad owners first season, so I’m sensitive to this. We’ve done a good job getting the right kind of players in, so we haven’t really had any issues. Most movement has been almost all post-season and for things like buying their own team, backups going to start elsewhere and a GM cutting back to keep his wife happy. If there’s ever a problem with how a player is being used, PT, whatever – PM and we’ll get it fixed. May be simple, may require moving on. It’s all good. I DO NOT hold players hostage. Does nobody any good. It’s supposed to be fun, so if it ain’t fun here, let’s get you someplace it will be in a way that helps everybody. Hopefully that makes it easier to go with a 2 year deal or longer up front rather than 1 year. More on that idea later.
PERSONNEL/MONEY
We’re always looking to upgrade. Don’t blindside guys though. I’ll contact you if I think a trade would be better for everybody. Did this once in 7 seasons and the guy went to start someplace else.
CONTRACTS are preferably 2 year deals and SALARIES AND BONUSES will not be as flashy as other places. Here’s why: All the savings go back to the equipment fund. I’ve bought every piece of equipment requested. I want guys to have what they need. If the fund is big, you can be sure the guy next to you is equipped and going to do his best. If it all goes to contracts, somebody will be a weak link. You’ll always be able to train intense. I rework deals to make sure of it. The 2 year commitment is basically making sure the team gets some return on its investment in its players.
OFFENSIVE OUTLOOK
Prefer balance on offense, try to take what the opponent will give.
Season 8 - led conference in passing yards. 2 WRs in top ten for yards, TDs. HB in top 10 rushing yards/TDs. 4 guys over 40 catches, league leading punter.
Season 7 - Conference leader in rushing and rushing TDs and backup with 700+; and 2 guys with 1000+ (the next 2 were 998.5 and 874, 7 guys with 20 catches or more) QB 3rd in yards, 1st in TDs
Season 6 saw 2x 1000 rushers, 3x 1000 receivers.
Ball is distributed across multiple players, pressure defenses to stop multiple areas.
Always looking to upgrade anywhere we can, add more pressure on defenses and open up opportunities for our guys.
OL is solid. Looking for replacement/upgrade at OT, 1 G
QB – All set, led conference
HB – All set, consistent 1000 yarder
WR – Have 4, will consider a 5th. 2 guys top 10 Yds & TDs
TE – All set unless major recieiving TE stud appears
P/K – Kicker upgraded, Need to fill Punter b/c current guy is looking to retire
DEFENSIVE OUTLOOK
Prefer aggressive style. Blitzes from all angles, mix packages. Want guys who can run at all positions and make things happen when they get there. 11 guys on the ball if we can get ‘em there. We force a lot of 3rd and longs, 2nd and longs, so big play opportunities are there.
DT/NT – Interior returning, and upgraded at NT
DE – Solid group including 1 primary at ST. Will consider upgrade
LB – Run and Hit. Lost 1 FA, would like to upgrade, maybe move a guy to ST only
CB – Lost one to FA. Want to upgrade solid group. 1-2 to add. Use lots of dime/nickel, so PT is good for all.
Safeties – Safeties are solid, need another FS, lost 1 to FA. Backup/starter role doesn’t matter. Would prefer to upgrade.
