The background picture on my cell phone was from Game Six against Detroit... Stevie-Y's last game after we retired the Red Wings and went on to the cup. Rollie went out in the first game and it cost us the championship.

Sorry for making more Tans.... but you really hold on to things if all you remember is that Red Wing Series. When is the last time the Oilers won a Stanley Cup? Hell Hossa signed with the Wings for far less money and he is talking right now with the Wings about signing long term for less than he can get on the open market.... because he likes to win

Edmonton was alright. I only lived there a year, but I dated a girl who was in the musical theatre program at G-Mac and a girl who was taking her masters at the U of A. Yeah it is oil country so at least half of the people are blue-collar assholes, but there is also a really decent music, acting, and arts scene centred around Whyte Ave.
Of course I only lived there a year, but at least it has decent shops and bands.

Don't beat up on my team when they are down. Seriously. The Oilers are all but eliminated from the playoffs (maybe the are completely, I haven't checked the scores tonight, but last I checked the odds were pretty much against us), so all I've got is a coach that might be gone, a bunch of rookies that let me down, and no consistent help from the veterens. The Red Wing series is all I've got for now.

In all honesty i have nothing against the Oilers haha. It would be a good thing for some Canada teams to get good and stop letting us ass hole americans steal your sport. Then again the Wings are mostly European.... and we know how Don Cherry feels about those bastards

Didn't really consider the music aspect but they do get top acts here.
