No more game of the week, it's the playoffs now. Should be a great postseason. Congrats to all of the playoff teams.
#1 Miami Hammerheads v #8 Buffalo Beasts
I have seen several top seeds lose in the first round before in GLB, so anything is possible. The first meeting was a 49-27 shootout before Buffalo really got started on their season turnaround. The Hammerheads have been good all season and have the talent advantage in virtually every category. Miami 35, Buffalo 21.
#2 Houghton Gremlins v #7 Atlanta Wolves
Houghton has been solid all season, while Atlanta has been very up and down. Their first matchup was 16-3 slugfest. Since that time Houghton seems to be playing better and Atlanta about the same imo. Atlanta was held to just over 150 yards the first time around and I see something similar barring some great planning. Houghton 24, Atlanta 10.
#3 Miami Makos v #6 Maine Hawks
The Makos passed the Grizzlies on some factor of the tie-break formula to take the #3 spot and get another game with the Hawks, whom they edged 20-17 last time in a very nice game. Miami was unable to run on Maine's D last time which could be problematic. This should be another very close affair. Miami 27, Maine 24.
#4 Montana Grizzlies v #5 Red River Chiefs
Montana looked invincible early on but suffered a few losses late. RR is on a 3 game losing streak. All close games, but probably morale-affecting to some of the lower confidence players. Could be a factor. Montana handed RR their worst loss of the season 31-14. The yardage totals were not as far off as the score so I expect it to be closer. Montana 28, Red River 24.
