These rankings are not based on who happened to beat who in week 1, or won by 1 point head-to-head, but instead are based on who is going to be the toughest team to play this upcoming game, based on a variety of factors including performance all season but weighted more to recent games, quality of wins, playing tough even in defeat, etc.

WEST
1) Mentone Beach Assault had best game of the season by far last game
2) Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens have looked much stronger as the season has progressed
3a) Mighty Chihuahuas Returned to form by beating Long Beach by 13 last game
3b) Long Beach Dub All-Stars how will they rebound after the loss to Mighty?
5a) Bakersfield Nanananas trounced by Mentone Beach by 91 last game
5b) Virginia George Washingtons topped Saginaw by 3 last game
5c/7a) Beantown Bastards too inconsistent lately to give only one ranking to
7b) Saginaw Supernovas likely playoff team, but not shown the same upside as the higher-ranked teams
9) Dallas Hitmen up and down from week to week, hoping to slip into the playoffs
10) Big Bear Avalanche 51 point loss to CCIA last game
11) Steel City Sentinels five losses in a row prior to most recent "gimme" game
12) Idaho Rex much better than the 4 teams below them
13) Los Angeles Cobras CPU
14) Eugene SLUGs
15) Pittsburgh Stillers
16) Washington Bow Chicka Brown Cows

EAST
1a) Tennessee Fury undefeated, and playing at a very high level the past couple of games, although against lowly opposition
1b) Boston Bears yea, they lost to Tennessee three games ago, by 1 point - still as tough an opponent to face week in and week out in the East as Tennessee is
3a) Sleepy Hollow Horsemen topped Louisiana State last game in a 48-40 shootout, would be ranked 9th if they were in the West
3b) Louisiana State Tighas could easily have won the shootout with Sleepy Hollow, during last six games have played as tough as any team in the East outside the top 2
5a) Phoenix Scorpions people who have seen what this franchise has done in the past keep waiting for this team to take off, but we're still waiting
5b) Dirty Cheetahs have not distinguished themselves from the pack
5c) Saint Paul Vulcans nice thumping of the Toxins, now keep it up and move up the rankings!
8) Enghave Evolution Should round off the playoff group
9) Houston Toxins seem to be free-falling less than lower-ranked teams
10a) Texas Wrecking Crew a 4 point win over the Hitmen? You cannot be serious!
10b) New Jersey Mobsters six losses in a row have left them reeling
12) NJ Hitmen yea they lost to the Clowns by 6 three games ago, but they're a much tougher opponent week in and week out
13) Los Angeles Bicycle Clowns
14) Philadelphia Birds
15) Atlantic City Aces
16) Iowa Hogeyes CPU

INTER-CONFERENCE TOP 8 - in my opinion, here's how teams would perform if everyone was in one conference

1) Mentone Beach Assault
2) Corpus Christi Illegal Aliens
3a) Tennessee Fury
3b) Boston Bears
5a) Mighty Chihuahuas
5b) Long Beach Dub All-Stars
7a) Bakersfield Nanananas
7b) Virginia George Washingtons

Based on their last couple of games, it appears Beantown may be starting to play at a level where they could challenge these top 8, but we need to see more from Beantown; Saginaw is the next closest team, followed by Sleepy Hollow and Louisiana State

Texas owner went AWOL a few weeks ago. Many of the players were his, so they just got removed from the team. GL to everyone here the rest of the way.

The team was pretty much made up of all of the owners players and the GMs players. I used to GM for their other team with the same players and they did the same thing, just sold and gutted the team.

That is a shame -- they were 15-1 last season with their only loss regular season loss (and conference title game loss) being to us.

They would have been tough here next season.

Yeah we were in the middle of game planning for them and the next thing I know I check the matchup screen and bam, they are no more. I had to refresh a couple of times to make sure I was looking at the right team.

GG, Scorpions.

I wish RL wasn't keeping ya'll from pouring it all into the game this season, but still a challenge to prepare for.

GG Scorps. As always, we took you very seriously this game. You definitely had me worried until very close to halftime. I hope to see you guys in the playoffs.

In other East Conference news - nice job by Enghave to defeat the Vulcans. I'm more impressed by you guys every week (especially your offense). You have a tough battle towards the end of your schedule (Dirty, Tighas, Boston) but it looks like you have the inside track on a home playoff seed.

GG Enghave -- I thought we had put you away 2 or 3 times but you kept coming back.

GG Bears, it looked like it was going to be a lot closer early on and then we just started letting up the big plays. Good gameplan.

GG Tennessee, I guess?

Looks like we had the Matador Line set.

Maybe we were sandbagging?

J/K

It was a good old fashioned butt kicking.
